Review of the meeting minutes from the previous board meeting on December 06,1999. Moved, Seconded and Passed (M/S/P). COMMITTEE REPORTS Chairman's The deadline to pre-register by mail is January 7, 2000. Absentee Ballot registration Report ends at 5 p.m. on January 31, 2000. Pre-registration at the Courthouse must be done by January 7, 2000. At this date, the Bond Election will be held in four (5) polling locations; The 7 Day Adventist Church, The Caldwell Chamber of Commerce Building, the Canyon Hill Church of the Nazarene Church, Caldwell Public Library and the Canyon County New Elections building during the hours of Noon to 8 p.m. on February 1, 2000. Chief Sobba will contact all departments for voting reminders. Sub Committees are free to meet and work on their own agendas and time-lines. . At present, words are being deleted from the last brochure to enable easier reading. A variety of publicity approaches in all types of utility bills will be used this year. Margaret Langan will take voter registration cards to the Senior Citizen homes and Center for registration. A telephone campaign will be held on the day of the election to remind everyone to vote. City Council will verify the results on February 7, 2000. . Promotions will speak to as many clubs as possible. $2500.00 is needed for expenditures in the proposed budget. City of Caldwell is restricted from donating funds to this project. Allan Laird and Rod Endow will present the Voter Registration List for identifying yes votes on 12-13 and the list will be used by Patty for mailing reminder cards. The DCA will donate and match the Caldwell Chamber of Commerce in a$250 contribution. Bud Way presented a cost analysis on the proposed bond. The interest rate of 5.40% is still very good. A roundtable discussion was held with topics covering the above items and voter registration at the ACof I as well as the fact that the building planned will fit growth factors for almost 40 years. Before next week, think about fundraisers, recruiters, meetings, questions and ideas. Our goal is 2,757 Yes Votes. We have 8,752 Registered Voters with only 1769 Votes cast in the last � Bond Election. The Police Station has 60 employees who are targeting 10 Yes Votes per employee for a ' total of 600 Yes Votes! j We need to recruit additional committee members for this issue. It will lessen the workload and get the I message out to more "Yes" voters than in the last election. The Mayor is speaking to all civic groups for j their support as well as speaking to all City Departments, the High Schools and the College. The next meeting will be held on December 13,1999 at 5 p.m. in the City Hall Upstairs Meeting Room.
