REPORT FROM KEN WHEELER
Ken has hired a new assistant. His name is Jason Welch. He has his turf degrees and
worked at Hillcrest Country Club for three plus years. He will be a valuable addition to
Ken's staff.
Ken has put out bids on the new equipment package. The cost of the complete package
will be around 500,000. Dollars. We have approval to purchase a portion of this now
• from city council rather than put a large amount of money in our old equipment just to
keep it running. We will also soon have our Point of Sale computer system installed. This
will be done sometime before March l This new system will allow us to track the
number of rounds, who played those rounds and at what time they were played. It also
offers many accounting and inventory options. Pass holders will be required to carry their
card which will have a barcode and will be swiped when ever they play. We will have to
set some policy concerning forgotten cards and also lost cards, this will be done in our
next couple of ineetings.
We have been asked by the IGA to host the 2007 State Men's Amateur. This is one the
most prestigious tournaments held in Idaho and it should be a good chance for us to
showcase all the good things which are happening at Purple Sage. The Event will run
July 13 15 The IGA will pay 3000.00 dollars for the use of the course. We will also
receive revenue from green fees for practice rounds and should see a large increase in
cart rental and snack bar sales during this period. Over all we hope for this to be a great
benefit for us and the IGA. Pat and the Men's Association will be working closely with
John, Ken and their staffs to be sure that we have quality event and show the rest of the
state what a fine facility we have.
Some of the winter course work which has been completed includes. The removal of the
trees on 11 tee box. These trees drastically reduce the sun which hits 14 green and also
caused many problems for the cart paths in that area. We will have a new phone system
installed this month which will allow John's crew to service our customers better. We
. should also have the water damages repaired in the men's bathroom by the end of the
month. Other major maintenance items completed are as follows. Four old furnaces were
replaced on the club house. These were original to the club house and have had very little
maintenance since then. The pump system has had its repair and maintenance completed
at a cost of 19,000.00.
REPORT FROM JOHN WATSON
October — December revenues were about the same as last year. John feels the numbers
would be better but some folks are staying away due to the carts on the path only policy.
There have been a good number of folks going to Fairview in response to this policy.
Some discussion was had among those present as to our winter policies. Several ideas
were discussed including only being open on weekends during winter months. This was
tabled until further meetings and our current policy which allows Ken to make the
decision on when we will be open or closed pending course conditions etc.
REPORT FROM LENNY STROUP
Lenny has switched credit card companies and they are wanting a 4 years contract. He is
speaking with El Jay and the Mayor on trying to get his current contract with the city
extended. Lenny reports his numbers are almost exactly the same as last year. The
sources of the revenues are a little different but dollars are right in line.

 OLD BUSINESS
The pending land sales go to auction in early February. If we have no bidders at that the
required minimum bid we will put it on the market through a real estate firm and sell the
property through conventional methods. This process is very important to the future of
our course and may require some additional un scheduled meetings should offers arise. I
have asked the Mayor and El Jay to keep us closely informed on any progress.
NEW BUSINESS
A letter had been presented to Pat Inglis from Gerald Schroeder concerning the recent
events surrounding the closure of the back nine for a period of several days. The letter
asked that in the future when circumstances require such an action that the members be
informed as to the reason for that decision. This particular incident was an isolated one
and has since been handled and we do not anticipate any similar problems. In the future
should we have any closures of the facilities Ken will communicate this to John, Lenny
and their Staffs so there will be no questions as to why things have been done.
The meeting was then adjourned.
