AGENDA
1) Reports from Staff
2) New Business
The meeting was called to order.
REPORT FROM LENNY STROUP
Lenny stated that the course was in excellent shape. He reports that revenues are up
slightly over last year. He again thanks the shape of the golf course and the 10.00 greens
fee. He asked when we were going to order our pass cards and was advised that we will
wait until we get our point of sale computers and software. The new system will issue
magnetic cards to all pass holders so we will be able to track all of revenues and rounds
• with much better accuracy. Those folks who wish to buy passes as a gift for the holidays
we would issue a receipt that would be exchanged for a card when they are available.

REPORT FROM JOHN WATSON
John reported that he was also up over last year. Although it is early in a new year the
fact we are starting out ahead is a good sign.
John has been approached by the Valley View High School Golf teams about a fund
raiser which they would sell buy one get one free rounds of golf. The board agreed we
would participate if they came up with something better than the "Paper certificate "they
planned on using. The certificate would be good only non peak hours and days.
REPORT FROM KEN WHEELER
Ken reports that he has cut 2 cups on the greens for the winter play. As players have
noted they are in very difficult areas of the greens. Ken assured us that this was not in an
effort to increase scores but is an effort to save wear and tear on the greens over the
winter months. Leaves are blowing everywhere his crew is just himself and John and our
• mechanic. Once the wind stops blowing they will catch up on the leaves. They are in the
process of applying the snow mold retardant and will complete as wind allows. Ken is in
the process of looking for a new assistant. He has no time frame for this to be completed.
NEW BUSINESS
El Jay joined the meeting and gave us an update on the hearing and the status of the land
sale. The City Council has voted to sell approximately 50-60 acres of the land. This was
decided at the November council meeting and public hearing at which several board
members were in attendance. El Jay, Ken, John and I all presented the council with the
information as to why the sale is necessary and the best move for the future of Purple
Sage golf course. Those who opposed the sale included several adjoining property
owners, members of the Men's and Women's Association and Pat Inglis Men's
Association president. . Testimony was heard and the Council made the above decision
based on the testimony.
The sale will proceed with a date being set and advertising of the public auction. Once
this is completed an auction will be held with a minimum 50,000.00 per acre bid. If the
property does not sell at this price then it will be listed with a realty firm and the property
sold at the direction of the council and the board.

Jeff read the attached document which out lined why he and several of the Board
members were in disagreement with the council and their decision to sell only a portion
of the property. Some discussion occurred at which time the Mayor joined us and
explained the complete process and what we would have to do should we decide to sell
all of the property or should an offer come in through the process which would include all
of the property. Again this is all contingent on being able to get some where in the
50,000.00 dollar per acre range.
El Jay stated he will keep us informed as to where we are in the process but was sure it
would not happen until after the first of the year.
As is normal we will not have a December meeting unless something happens on the
land. The January meeting will be our next opportunity to discuss these issues and should
have a lot of important items to discuss at that time.
The meeting was adj ourned.
