• Nick Despopoulos addressed the board about advertising on the local city map they are
producing for the Chamber of Commerce. Board voted to advertise. This map will come
out in February 2006. Eight thousand copies will be out to the public.
Karl Rucker addressed the board on the handicap policy. Karl needs a golf cart when he
plays because of health problems. The following policy was approved when a handicap a
flag is issued.
Motion was made by Georgia Hersh, seconded by Dan Rowe1L Motion carried.
Motion is as follows:
All carts are to be kept on the golf cart path at the tee boxes and greens unless you have a
handicap flag. If a handicap flag is issued carts will be kept 30 feet (ten steps) from the
greens and tee boxes. When the course is too wet for carts no carts will be allowed,
handicap flag or not.
REPORT FROM KEN WHEELER
Fairview has drained the system and is still warking on leaks. Purple Sage will be blown
out next week. We have put down our last application of fungicide. Course is really
green and has done well going into the fall.
Update on light for Fairview: I am looking at a solar powered light. Total cost should
around $500.00-$600.00 for pole and everything. It will be put in sometime in February.
• REPORT FROM EL JAY WAITE
We have transferred $145,000.00 from city funds to the golf fund to bring us back to the
level of last year so that our cash balance is sufficient until we start to sell golf passes...
so we will show $120,00.00 cash and $110,00.00 in restricted cash which is what we
have had the last year or two in audits. When the land sells this will be repaid. We have
a land payment of 20,000.00 due April l that addition funds will be needed for so that
we can pay off the land early. Then we can go ahead with the rezone. The Hanson
property will remain as it is...
REPORT FROM JOHN WATSON
Last October we were $18,513.00 this October $19,024.00 so we are to a good start.
IGA has requested that Purple Sage Golf Course again host the Senior Men's and
Women's Senior State Amateur August 22-23 2006. They are moving it off the
weekend.
Ken pointed out the extra expense that was required to prepare for a tournament. We
spend more on getting ready for the tournament then we bring in. IGA pays the course a
. $500.00 course usage fee. We are going to ask if that this fee can be increased and we
. would like a player fee of $5.00 per day added that would come back to the course. After
a great deal of discussion Georgia will contact IGA to work out some of these details
before we decide on having this tournament. This issue will be on the agenda for the
December meeting.
During the colder weather and due to frost and fog the da11y shotgun start will be 11:00
am instead of 10:00 am.
REPORT FROM LENNY STROUP
Lenny reported to having a small increase and that we are still holding our own... The
$10.00 green fee we put June is great. We had increases in July, August, September and
October.
In June Lenny wrote a letter to Caldwell Police concerning safety of our golfers at the
corner of l O & Logan. He received a letter from the traffic commission stating painting
the crosswalk would be the best way to secure safety at this crosswalk for now, but to
date it has not been done. Lenny would like someone else to see if this can be painted.
Lenny requested participated in the Rocky Mountain Section golf card program.
Approval was given to both John and Lenny to participate.
• Lenny read a great letter from a careless olf cart dri
g ver apologizing for his actions.
