HomeMy WebLinkAbout12-07-1994 SAFETY COMMITTEE � � MINUTES December 7, 1994 Present: Sue Brown, Charlie Chadwick & Elroy Huff (Co Christina Adame, Linda Heib, Alan Laird, Dave Marston, Carl Rapacon. The meeting was called to order in the Conference Room at City ' Hall at 9:00 a.m. The first item of business was a discussion on training video's to purchase. Sue presented a list of videos that she had researched regarding various topics. After brief discussion the members of the committee present decided to contact the State Library and see - if any of these video's can be purchased less expensive or borrowed on short notice. Sue stated that she would do that and report back to the committee. The next item of business was regarding First Aid and CPR Classes. Sue stated that dates have been set with Dan Ryan from the Police Department to do two sets of classes in January. A sign up sheet was distributed for employees to sign if they want to attend the class and return to Sue. (A copy of that memo is attached to this document). The next item of business was regarding a class that the Wellness Committee is having done on back care. Sue told the members to encourage the employees in their department to attend this class. The next item of business was a review of the incident reports turned in since the last meeting. Sue presented three for review. Elroy read these reports and there was brief discussion. None of these incidents were serious. The next item of business was the inspection of City facilities to ensure that all violations have been corrected from the State Inspection. Charlie and Elroy are arranging to take some time to inspect each violation to make sure it has been corrected. There was brief discussion regarding having someone from the Street Department take a"competent person" class. Sue stated that she would find out when the next class is and let the Street Dept. know. This class is designed to have one person in the department competent in all areas of safety and first aid regarding construction.
