� The membership meeting opened by Gwen Barney, Vice Chairman
for the purpose of electing 3 members for th� Caldwell Senior
Citizens Center Commission for a period of three years.
Beryl Kingsbury, chairman of the Nominating Committee, announced
the candidates: Helen Mee, Howard Smith, Vada Givens, Rick Sherer
and opened the floor for further nominations. Three times it
was announced and asked for. Hearing none the nominations were
closed.
Ballots were passed and each person was to check three names.
After the ballots were collected, the committee including Robert

Vase�,uez and Gary Maybon -- counted them.
Report of the committee: Helen Mee 60, Vada Givens 44, Howard
Smith 47, Rick Sherer 34.
New Members of the Board are:

Roll Call: Vada Givens, Lauren Stevens, Beryl Kingsbury, Doris
Ellis, Harvey Simmons, Virginia Figueredo, Gwen Barney, Pearl
Teraberry. Plus new members Helen Mee, Vada Givens, and Howard
Smith. Also present were Rick Wells from the City Council,
Robert Vasquez mayor's assistant, and Gary Ma�bon from the Police
Department.
Meeting called to order by Gwen Barney. Purpose of ineeting:
to elect new officers for 1998.
Doris Ellis nominated Ray Keck for Chairman. Second by Lauren
Stevens. Vote was unanimous.
Vada Givens nominated Howard Smith for Vice Chairman. Second
by Virginia Figueredo. Lauren Stevens nominated Pearl Teraberry.
There was no second. Howard Smith voted in as ViceChairman
with one person abstaining.
Doris Ellis nominated Virginia Figueredo for Secretary. Second
by Vada Givens. Carried with one opposed.
Vada Givens nominated Gwen Barney for Treasurer. Second by Doris
Ellis. Carried with 2 opposed.
Our guests from the city of Caldwell introduced themselves and
we thanked them for coming.
Vada Givens made a motion to adjourn, second Doris Ellis. Meeting
closed at 1:05 PM.
