HomeMy WebLinkAbout01-12-1998 SENIOR MINUTES . � , Special Meeting January 12, 1998 Caldwell Senior Center Commission Called to order 3:15 Pm by Howard Smith, Vice Chairman. Those present: Doris Ellis, Harvey Simmons, Virginia Figueredo, Gwen Barney, Vada Givens, Helen Mee, Howard Smith. There was a discussion of problems and complaints that people at the Center had concerning the cook, Yvonne Bloom. A motion was made and seconded that the cook, Yvonne Bloom be relieved of her job immediately . This passed unanimously. A letter was immediately written to different agencies concerned about our intentionsto fire Vonnie. (Letter in secretary's file)Motion made and seconded for the letter to be sent.Passed unanimously. The members present at the meeting signed the letter. It was also decided unanimously that Verna Black obtain the programs for the center and to take Dot's place at the podium when she is absent. It was reported also the locksmith received a call from someone claiming to be Dot Blessing. This person said she had lost her key, Could he make one for her? He said,"No." In checking with Dot we discovered that Dot had not made the call. We as a board made a tour of the kitchen and the walk-in. Since Monday is Vonnie's day to clean. A number of pictures were taken. These were our findings: 1. Drip tray in the stove was very dirty. 2. Bottom of lower right refrigerator had spills that needed to be cleaned up , also a stale odor. 3. Louvre doors were left open. 4. Spice cabinet has spilled flour and spices all over the shelf. 5. Small sink and drain board were left dirty; remnants of food left in bottom of this sink and on the drain board. 6. A whole tray of baked goods was left uncovered unprotected from flies, etc. 7. IN THE WALK-IN Foul odor as soon as the door was opened. Floor covered with dried blood drippings (from raw meat)Seemed to have been there for several days at the least) 8. Freezer was in good shape.
