* Friday, December 12, 1997
Meeting called to order at 9:26 am by Vice Chairman Gwen Barney.
Members present for ROLL CALL: Vada Give�s, Lauren Stevens,
Beryl Kingsbury, Gwen Barney, Doris Ellis, Harvey Simmons,
Virginia Figueredo, Pearl Teraberry. New members present were:
Helen Mee, Howard Smith. Dottie Blessing, coordinator was
present.
Secretary minutes for regular and special meetings were read
and approved as read.
Treasurer's report was read and approved as read.
Dottie Blessing gave the Coordinator's report: 1435 meals were
served: 16 nonseniors, with the average meal at 2.428.
Bills presente� were: Beryl Kingsbury $85, Press Tribune 59.88,
�QQ�189•98. Pearl Teraberry made a motion to pay the bills: second
Doris Ellis. Motion passed.
Old Business:Doris �llis reported that we have a bid from
Irrigators for the vinyl doors for the kitchen; of $1006.45
and 1047.85. The board agreed that we get one or two more bids.
We are waiting for another janitor from Title 5.
Vada Givens made a motion to table any discussion of bonus until
Ray Keck returns.Second by Pearl Teraberry, Motion carried with
Lauren Stevens abstaining,
Dottie Blessing reported that having the Volunteer dinner in
December did not work out,so it has been postponed until January
6, 1998. Being a Tuesday, volunteers will eat free and the
money $300)will be put back into the nutrition program.
Concerning the Auction in December, Vada Givens made a motion
for the Board to pay the sales tax and we should get a gift
for Harvey Ward. Second by Pearl Teraberry. Passed.
New Business: Vada Givens made a motion that the board give
a$50 gift to Dot Blessing and she would take care of a gift
for the cook and cook's helper as has been done in the
past.Second by Doris Ellis. Passed with one abstaining,
Pearl Teraberry made a motion to adjourn. Harvey Simmons
seconded. Adjourned at 10:10 am.
