HomeMy WebLinkAbout01-20-1998 SENIOR MINUTES R � � f � � CALDWELL SENIOR CITIZEN COMMISSION BOARD MEETING REGULAR MEETING, Tuesday January 20, 1998 Chairman Ray Keck called to meeting to order at 9:25 am. Roll Call: those present were Ray Keck, Howard Smith, Virginia Figueredo, Vada Givens, Harvey Simmons, Doris Ellis, Pearl Teraberry, Gwen Barney, Helen Mee, Dottie Blessing and visitors Lauren and Arlene Stevens, Ramona Maerz. New board members were introduced and welcomed . Ray read the agenda and explained how it is to work. Pearl Terraberry made motion to accept the agenda. sec. Howard Smith. Carried. Motion to approve minutes with this correction: EOA has recommended the release of Eloa Hill and hiring a qualified cook's helper. Sec/Helen Mee. Carried. Financial report: Dec. report and Annual Report read and approved as read. MSC Ray spoke to us about as board members we should major on relationships not on minor details. As chairman he speaks for us and upholds what the majority members have voted. He as chairman will cast a vote only in case of a tie. Nutrition--Dottie Blessing report--She explained how she must have an ending balance of zero at the end of the year. Meals served: 1487, 17 nonseniors, 12 minority. OLD BUSINESS After brief discussion, Vada Givens made a motion for a letter to be sent to Caldwell Chamber of Commerce thanking them for the offer of inembership but due to budgetery reasons we decline. Pearl, sec. Carried. DISPOSITION OF THE COOK: It was noted that we must work the system and therefore should give some time for the present problems to be worked out. Howard Smith made a motion that the board rescind the letter Gwen sec. Carried. COOK"S HELPER The board has the right to hire and fire cook's helper. Gwen Barney:motion to rescind the action of releasing Eloa Hill. Sec. Howard Smith Carried. ACCORDIAN DOORS: Estimates: Irrigators 1006.45 installed Stone Lumber 1053.98 not installed !� ` , o�- It was also su . It was moved,seconded and carried that we accept Irrigators price and use the donation ($500) and the board makes up the difference in the price. ENTERTAINMENT CHAIRMAN: Verna Black with the help of someone on the board. TITLE V: No one available at this time. We will continue with the cleaning co, that we have.
