Not present: Rick Scherer - Mae Huston - Ruby Arbaugh Also'Present - Ingrid Rose - Caldvuell Center Coordinator President Dillon called the meeting to order at 9:34 AM and it was determined that a quorum was present. Ingrid gave the coordinators report and shared that attendance was up and total served for the month of October was 1,484. She thanked Gwen Barney for the donated Chopper blender. Ingrid stated that the janitorial group is doing a good job now. The Bazaar was not as good as expected but a total of $230.00 was garnered for the board. She told us that items are needed for the auction an 12/8 at 12:45 PM. Also that the city looked at the leak on the roof and it is suppose to be fixed now. The oceupancy sign is up and the emergency light is on order. The heat in the kitchen continues to need attention. Ingrid will ask the city to contact their heating company. The dances are going to be once a week at the center for now and a New Years Even dance is planned to bring in the milleruum. Lights, pictures and fun is planned for all participants. The annual nutrition Thanksgiving dinner is planned for Wednesday 11l24/99. The meals are maintaining a 99 person average per day. Gwen Barney gave the financial report and it was approved as presented. Gwen told us that she had purchased the Xmas gifts for Ingrid and Hardy Ward the auctioneer for a total of $50.17. It was voted to reimburse Gwen for these costs. Discussion occurred regarding the various costs for rentals of facilities.Arclue reported on rooms at Alt�ertson's College . The board is still researching where the center stands for our present rental costs. Marie Pilote inquired as to where the various groups meet tn aur center. It was determined that the pool tables are not to be moved. Gwen agreed to purchase a book of stamps with which to reimburse Margaret for postage costs. Marie Pilote asked about the Zee Med costs on the financial report and we learned that this was the cost for the First Aid Kit for the center. Elvin and Marie reported on the Board Trainnig at Melba in September and that because of the diversity of centers things are not handled the same way everywhere. Dallas reported on the Area Agency III Meeting held at the center on November lst. Margaret asked who from the Caldwell Senior Center was serving on the EOA Board at present? Gwen stated that Leo Perez was at one time but that we were not sure he represented Caldwell now that he lives in Parma. Dallas reminded the Board that it is time to think about the election of new board members. Gwen - Margaret - and Mae's terms will end 12-31-99. Margaret agreed to put the notice in the paper regarding the Annual Meeting and election on 12-1-99. The following names were submitted by the boazd subject to their agreeing to f • � have their names presented: Marie Wiley, Ray Shaun, Gwen Bamey and George Carsen. It was shared that there can be nominations from the floor the day of the elections. The elections will take place at ll:30 AM and Ingrid will announce several times prior to the date that inter�sted seniors should come eazly that day and be prepared ta vote on who they want to represent them on the Board. Glenn Ward told us that he will be doing abit of travelling and will be gone for 3 months. Dallas told us that the Computer trainer was here and that he is still trying to get sameone from the College to come on a regular basis. Margaret Langan announced that seniors can go to the Caldwell High School after 5:00 PM on Monday's and in fihe media center they can have hands on training with the nite Librazian Debbie Rhoades. Gwen reminded folks to wrap gifts for the auction. Jerry Langan shared that he is pleased to give a good report to the city officials regarding the boardmembers work for the center.
