HomeMy WebLinkAbout07-19-1999 SENIOR MINUTES . , c � Caldwell Senior Citizens Board Meeting Minutes July 19,1999 Meeting called to order by Dallas Dillon, Chairman at 9:3$ AM. Pledge ofAllegiance followed. Margaret Langan was asked to take the minutes due to Virginia Figueredo's resigna- tion. Roll Call: Members present: Dallas Dillon, Rick Scherer, Elvin Rothell, Gwen Barney, Ex Officio: Jerry Langan - City Council and Ex Officio Mayor appointee Margaret Langan. Visitors included: Val Franklin, Archie Gulley, Ray Shan. Ingrid Rose - Coordinator was also present. It was noted that due to four resignations a quoram was not met for this meeting. The Docket was presented and agreed upon. Dallas welcomed the visitors and inquired of their interest in having their names presented to the Mayor and City Council for consideration as appointments. After discussion the following names were agreed Lisa Rosenberry, Marie Pilote, Glen Ward Archie Gu11ey, Margaret Langan, Va1 Franklin and Ray Shan. The financial report was given by Gwen Barney. Income for June: $500.00 Disbuse- ments $985.69 and balance on hand $5,389.16. Dallas inquired about our savings ' account status and itwas agreed that the Building Maintanence Fund balance should l i be shown on the report each month. Gwen shared that the drum for the copier had � been paid for previou�ly. � Dallas requested that the minutes and financials be posted on the bulletin board each month. Ingrid will clear a spot and this will be done. Ingrid gave the Coordinators report. Monday meals going good. The dance was a huge success and the Country Swing band well received. Only $3.00 a person and another dance is planned for July 30. Ingrid said left over food is being used if possible and other is placed in containers for seniors at $1.35 each . An activity Fund is in place. Ingrid reported on the need for a chopper - food processor for the kitchen. Gwen Barney offered to pay for it up to $200. Ingrid will follow up. Ingrid shared that the Craft Fair group would like to be considered to use the center for an arts and crafts show. Tables rent for $25.00. Nutrition would sell food. She needs to get back to them. Concern for the church was expressed and Ingrid will follow up on this. This event would be in October.. Dallas asked Councilman Jerry Langan to inquire regarding the roof repair. Jerry will check into this. President Dillon asked for a volunteer to serve as our representative to the CCOA board. Gwen Barney agreed to continue in this capacity. Dallas read letters of resignation from Virginia Figueredo and BobTrunnell. Dallas read a invitation from the Area Agency inviting all boards to attend a tra.ining session on September 28 at the Melba Senior Center. All invited. Margaret reported on the AARP Caldwell Chapter #518 having a booth at the Canyon County Fair - July 29 thru August 2nd. She invited everyone to come by and say hi.
