Senior Center Board Meeting April 11, 2011
Erma Jones cal4ed the meeting to order at 1:02 pm with the Pledge of AUegiance to the
Fing.
In attendunce:
Paige NIcfi�lichael, Gene Schaecher, bonna Crockefi�, Linda Waner, Russ Vl�ei�te,
Kelli Wurwick, Forrest Smotherman and Jeri Rhodes.

Emergency Exit Lights have been repaired and look grent.
Lock Box - For the key for the Fire Department. $2I5.00 is an approximate cost. Gene will
check to see if he cnn find ane (ess expensive. - This has been turned buck to the city as
the building is their responsibility.
Cheaper Rent for Memorials - The Board decided not to lawer the rent for memorinls.

New Business:
Volunteers - We need to have more transparency on how the center is run and how
importnnt the volunteers are. Paige will cnll Nampn center and see how they run this part of
their service.
The;Vatunteel�s'wiill 6 daily for the service that they provide ench day and will
get to eat lunch first.
This wi'll be reviewed at ench meeting to refine this service.
Plazn Flea Market to Benefit Sr. Center - Debby from City Hall called to see is we would like
to have a flea market to benefit the Senior Center in August. More information will be
needed before making a decision.
Harley Group Poker Run - This is to benefit the Meal on Wheels. This event would be on the
weekend. This will be tabled until more informntion can be received.

It was discussed that in the future any repairs that need to be done will have an estimate
done with that being presented to the board #irst before the work is done.

The current cantrnct was from Jnn 1/2Q11 to March 31/2011, At this point we do not hnve
an allocation for any ore snid funding.
6ene makes a motion of no less than 5 people to oversee the Nutrition Services. The Board
would meet prior to the monthly meeting to go over the reports that will be submitted at
the monthly meeting. It wns decided the 9 Bonrd Members would make up this committee.
So as to all Board Members now nnd in the future could gnin understanding and trnnsparency
of the progrum. This will be done right after the 15 of the month, Qlso Qt the end of eQCh
month. These are the times the bills are pQid. The committee will be looking at all invoices
and receipts to checks written at those times.
