HomeMy WebLinkAbout04-16-2009 DEPOT MINUTES ` � Caldwell Friends of the Depot Apri116, 2009 Caldwell Train Depot 12:00 PM ���pr�ta���:°' Minutes � ���-�`�8 � The meeting was called to order by Debbie Geyer at 12:OSPM. Members present: Debbie Geyer, Garianne Goslin, Dave & Sheila Williams, Ed & Ina Adler, Barb Sayler, Lenore Johnston Agenda: A motion to approve the Agenda as presented was made by Debbie Geyer and seconded by Garianne Goslin. The motion passed unanimously Minutes: The Minutes from February and March were approved as corrected with a motion by Debbie and a second by Garianne Goslin. Finance Report: Debbie Geyer reported that following some expenditures including window signs, the current balance was $9,799.22. Sheila Williams moved to approve the financials as presented. Ed Adler seconded the motion which passed unanimously. Presentations: Clem Sahleen was not available for the scheduled presentation. Old Business: Refrigerator Cabinet Update: Sheila & Dave Williams reported that progress was pending. Plaza Banner Alternatives: Sheila Williams presented a concept for the banners suggesting different flags for each season. The committee liked her idea and she will follow up with cost estimates. Storage Shed Update: Debbie Geyer reported that the project will finally begin on Monday. The crew will also see what materials are available for wheeled carts to hold the tables and chairs. This project should be complete by the June Friday Night Express event. Suitcase Curriculum: Item pending. Donation Box: Da�e Williams reported that he is in the process of redesign. Upcoming Events: The Friday Night Express event is coming up and has a FOD theme for each month. June S will host a quilt show by Cindy's Quilts to dedicate the new quilt and honor them for their help. July 3 will have a watermelon feed and August 7 will host an ice cream . .'"�' social. Barbara Sayler volunteered to help organize the last two functions. New Business: Ideas for Marketing the Depot: Garianne reported that she could easily design a single sheet (front and back) brochure "card" that could be distributed at the Chamber, Depot and other places. She still needs the username and password to gain access to the Depot website for possible redesign and update. Debbie Geyer reported that the Interpretive Center had been included in the Caldwell Parks & Recreation booklet. Lock Box on Depot Building: Dave Williams presented the lock box he had purchased to store the keys to the building on-site for convenience. He will install it. The box cost $29. Debbie Geyer moved to reimburse Mr. Williams for the cost. Ina Adler seconded the motion which passed unanimously. Other Business: Case by Stair Rail: Debbie Geyer suggested that the glass case by the stair rail be used for a revolving display. It was suggested that a military display be designed for the summer months. The Adlers have a WWII naval suit and an army blanket. A mannequin is still needed. Docent Identification: It was suggested that a vest or apron be developed for the docents at the Interpretive Center to be used as an identifier since they can not be distinguished from the guests. It will be looked into. Additional Tables: With the Depot being opened this year, there will be a need for additional tables to be used inside the building. Debbie Geyer will research the cost and present a budget at the next meeting. Adjourned: Dave Williams moved to adjourn the meeting at 1:O1PM.
