The meeting was called to order by Rudi Lotz at 12:OSPM. �`���
Members present: Rudi & Barbara Lotz, Debbie Geyer, Gaxianne Goslin, Jim Blacker, Shirley
Alsup, Dave & Sheila Williams, Ed & Ina Adler, Barb Sayler, Frank & Mary Ann Smith
Agenda: A motion to approve the Agenda with additions was made by Debbie Geyer and
seconded by Shirley Alsup. The motion passed unanimously
Minutes: The Minutes from May were approved as read with a motion by Debbie Geyer and a
second by Jim Blacker.
Finance Report: Debbie Geyer reported that the current balance was $9,560.90. The balance in
the contingency fund is $3,021.49. The storage shed is complete and additional tables and chairs
have been purchased at a cost of $643 and $682, respectively. Contingency funds have been
appropriated for the refrigerator cover and a lighted cabinet for the quilt. Mary Ann Smith
seconded the motion which passed unanimously. Jim Blacker moved to approve the financials as
presented. Mary Ann Smith seconded the motion which passed unanimously.
Presentations:
Jim Blacker presented the Mayor's Architectural & Design Award to the Friends of the Depot for
the work done to restore the Caldwell Train Depot.
Old Business:
Refrigerator Cabinet Update:
Sheila & Dave Williams reported that the cabinet would cost approximately $250. There
may be an issue with the weight and getting it into the building. It will probably have to
be assembled inside the building. This project will be on hold until October.
Plaza Banner Alternatives:
Sheila Williams is getting estimates.
Canyon County Fair Booth:
A sign up sheet was distributed for the Canyon County Fair July 23-26, 2009.
Donation Box:
Da�e Williams reported that this project is on hold until October.
Marketing Tools:
Garianne is still working on this and will also look into business cards.

Friday Night Express Events:
The FOD will be selling watermelon at the July 3 rd event. The Barbara's reported that
everything had been purchased with the exception of the ice and watermelon.
E Clampus Vitus Historical Sign:
The dedication of this project will be held at the August 7 Friday Night Express at
S:OOPM. They will need a booth area to sell booklets to raise money for the cost of the
plaque.
New Business:
Education Tours:
Mary Ann Smith will order bears and dress them for the Depot "mascot". An area rug
and a small-scale train set will be used in the main part of the depot. Tour packets will be
available to each child that will include information on train safety, coloring book and
crayons. A program is being developed.
Quilt Diplay:
The new quilt is nearing completion and will arrive in a few weeks.
July 4 th Parade:
Dave and Sheila Williams will participate with the banner and the kiddy train.
Whistle in the Woods:
Debbie Geyer commented that the depot needs "background" noise. Mary Ann Smith
said she has CD's with train sounds.
Other Business:
There was no other business to discuss.
Adjourned:
Mary Ann Smith moved to adjourn the meeting at 1:OOPM. The motion was seconded by Dave
Williams and passed unanimously.
