Mayor's Youth Advisory Council, and civic clubs be contacted to gain new members.
It was suggested that the executive officers meet and review possible projects and activities for
the coming year. A report will be brought back to the entire committee for activation and
assistance.
Publicity Items and Activities:
Julv 4 Parade Float: It was recommended that the Friends of the Depot enter a float into the
Caldwell July 4 Celebration. The float could help promote upcoming activities in the depot.
Diana Register suggested that we contact "Locks of Love" and sponsor such an event in
August at the depot. The float could emphasize the "old fashioned" barber shop look with
barbershop singers, etc. Members could walk behind the float and hand out flyers concerning
the "Locks of Love" event as well as the upcoming Christmas Bazaar in November.
Dianne Register suggested that the Friends of the Depot partner with other organizations to
assist in planning a community affair such as a mystery theater at the facility or an art show
highlighting local artists and the college(s) art department students.
Bazaars at the Depot: Appreciation was expressed to Barbara Lotz for the outstanding
Christmas Bazaar which she organized in November 2010. It was well attended and many
donations were received for the depot.
It was suggested that another such craft bazaar be held in June 2011 at the depot this year and
then the Christmas bazaar in November 2011. Barbara Lotz volunteered to organize the finro
craft bazaars and will work to formulate a committee to help organize and publicize these two
events. Dates: Saturdav, June 4 and Saturdav November 5.
Report on Friday Night Express & Movies in the Park:
Debbie presented an update on the Friday Night Express event to be held on Friday, June 24
She noted that Friday Night Express (FNE) will take on a new look this year with only one
musical concert. The event on Friday, June 24 will be used as a"kick off" for introducing the
new "Movies in the Park" events, which will be held throughout the summer. The FNE
concert/street dance will feature musical artists Lee Mitchell of Boise and the "Too Slim" Band
from Seattle, Washington. At dusk the crowd will move to the Indian Creek Park where an
