June 24 Friday Night Express: This event will take on a new emphasis — there will only be one
event and it will serve as the "Summer Kick-OfP' concert for a new event, "Movies for a Cause".
These will occur every two weeks, each benefiting a local non-profit. The FOD needs to staffthe
Interpretive Center that evening and the Train Club was invited to bring their layouts for display.

change and other commitments.
Membership/Volunteers:

assisting the FOD in the Interpretive Center and other needed areas. Members are asked to contribute
to the list with contact names, numbers and meeting dates. Debbie Geyer will place an ad in the Press
Tribune looking for volunteers.
Publicity Ideas:
July 4 Parade: Working in line with the Locks of Love event, the group would like to participate in
the July 4` Parade in order to promote the August event. Members were asked to volunteer to assist
with the idea.
Dinner Theater: The idea was introduced to work with the college or a theatrical group to organize a
Dinner Theater at the Depot. The FOD would again support a cause and the members could defray
 , , ,
'' c$sts by serving the meal. It was suggested that this event occur in the Fall or Winter but to be
mindful of the football schedule as this could affect attendance. Rudy Lotz stated that he might hae
an idea or two for sponsors.
Grant Funding:
There was no additional information except that a check was expected soon.
New Business:
Security Issues:
Garianne Goslin opened the floor to discussion on security for the building stating that there was very
little security and that damage continues to done to the railing outside the Depot. It was suggested
that the FOD look into different options including motion lights, alarms and cameras. The FOD will
work with the City to see what is available.
Interpretive Center Expansion:
The idea to have "ledges" installed in the Interpretive Center to display additional items was
presented. Members thought it would be a good idea to have half-mannequins displaying period
apparel and other items such as hats. Other ideas included railroad lanterns, bikes, and wooden toys.
The FOD could also add a Velcro board to the door and include a"What Is It" worksheet far visitors
to identify items on display.

Rudi Lotz will look into an outing in September or October. Members suggested Thunder Mountain
Line or a day trip to Sumpter. The ideas will be looked into.
Other Items for Discussion:
Depot Usage: Debbie Geyer passed out calendars for Depot Usage through September 2011 so that
FOD members would be aware of everything that is going on.
Barbara Lotz and Barbara Sayler agreed to check the supplies and inventory far the Interpretive
Center and will let Debbie Geyer know what is needed for reorder.
