HomeMy WebLinkAbout11-10-2011 DEPOT MINUTES ` Friends of the Caldwell Depot MINUTES �� November 10, 2011 Present: Garianne Goslin, Debbie Geyer, Barbara Sayler, Pauline Walgamott, Dave Wilson, Marvin Dennis, Wilma Aubrey, and Mark Pemble. Debbie Geyer reported that Ms. Goslin was absent due to family obligations. Ms. Geyer called the meeting to order. A�enda Approval: MOVED/Debbie Geyer, SECONDED/Barbara Sayler to accept the agenda as presented. Motion carried. Approval of Minutes: MOVED/Marvin Dennis, SECONDED/Dave Wilson to approve the minutes as presented. Motion carried. Finance Report: Ms. Geyer reported that the fiscal end-of-year balance was $8,141.59. Shelving units were purchased for the downstairs storage for $95.38 and flowers were bought for appreciation to Barbara Lotz for $25.00. Expenditures totaled $120.38. Jim Blacker delivered the flowers and a plaque to the Lotz's. MOVED/Pauline Walgamott, SECONDED/Barbara Sayler to approve the Financial Report. Motion carried. Old Business: • Bvlaws - Membership Discussion was held concerning replacement of inembers of the Board of Directors to reflect those who are able to attend regularly. Dave Wilson will represent the CC Model Railroad Club and Marvin Dennis will replace Diane Register. Ms. Reg�ster's work schedule has prevented her attending. MOVED/Debbie Geyer, SECONDED/Pauline Walgamott to approve Dave Wilson as the CC Model RR Club Representative and Marvin Dennis to replace Diane Register on the FOD Board of Directors. Motion carried. • Bylaws — Meetin� Dates and Approval of Revised Articles Discussion was held concerning quarterly meeting dates and activities. There will be a slideshow presentation at the January meeting. It was suggested that a trip to Weiser take place in April and Sumpter in July. These ideas will be taken into consideration and a subcommittee will make arrangements. �. 4 � The revised articles including the two new Board Members and the revised quarterly meeting schedule was presented for approval. MOVED/Debbie Geyer, SECONDED/Pauline Walgamott to approve the revised articles as presented. Motion carried. A final draft will be available at the office of Debbie Geyer for signatures from the Board of Directors. Members are asked to stop in at their earliest convenience. • Winter Wonderland The Depot will open at S:OOPM on with Jim Blacker and Garianne Goslin greeting at the door. Marvin Dennis will drive the Kiddie Train. Dave Wilson is manning the model train displays. Others have been recruited to cover the Interpretive Center. All are invited to assist in any way needed. � Securitv/Furnace Repair Update Both of these items have been completed and smoke alarms have been placed on the main level, the basement, and the dormers. Access codes will be given to those needing access to the Interpretive Center. The security system is motion sensored. Even the corners of the room are "not safe" to hide in. Additionally, the moisture in the basement has been cleaned up with the wall that was damaged being trimmed and finished to prevent further damage. New Business: • December Meetin� - Potluck A potluck will be held during a meeting on December 8 Members are asked to bring a guest. Entertainment, games and chicken will be provided. A potluck sign up will be sent out via email. All are asked to bring a White Elephant gift for exchange. Invitations will be sent out with details.
