CALDWELL PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD MEETING February 6, 2003 • The monthly meeting of the Caldwell Public Library Board was held February 6, 2003, in the Idaho room of the library. The meeting was called to order by Vice Chair Lou Rohr at 7:04p.m. Others present were Leona Manke; Jack Teraberry; Pat Papapietro; Jim Blacker, City Council Liaison; and Library Director, Elaine Leppert. It was moved, seconded, and passed that Jack Teraberry serve as Chair and Lou Rohr as Vice- Chair for the next year. (Papapietro/Manke) Minutes were approved as presented. (by consensus). There was a presentation by Leppert explaining the large response to the computer classes. Bills: Bills were presented to the Board. Leppert explained the process of bill paying. It was moved, seconded, and passed to pay the January bills of $52,475.21. (Manke/Teraberry) Business: Audit Report: The city's annual audit report was similar to previous years. Appropriate accommodations will be made. For example, they are still questioning the Uyematsu Fund and no decision has been made. The worth of the stocks is improving and the consensus is to wait for clarification from the city. • Meeting Room Policy Discussion: The compliance of our policy with the Library Bill of Rights is inconsistent and needs a possible revision. It was decided that the board members would look at the policy more thoroughly and discuss them again next meeting. Distribution of Idaho Library Law booklets: These are to be put in our Trustee's notebook, replacing the old booklet. Reimbursement of Pead fund: The library owes the Pead fund $389.50. It was moved and seconded that we retroactively authorize Leppert to transfer Pead money to the Monetary Investment Fund. The board also recommends that Leppert repay the Pead fund at an appropriate time. (Manke/Papapietro) A discussion about putting holes in the outside wall was conducted and alternatives were discussed. The next meeting is scheduled for March 5, 2003, 7 p.m. The meeting was adjourned at 8:11 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Leona Manke Secretary 2/5/03
