1) CHAIRMAN'S REPORT
Cooper introduced Tim Fleming, formerly the attorney for the city of Caldwell who is
working on the Mayoral Scholarship Fund Golf Tourney. The mayor gives a$500.00
scholarship, and raises money to fund this endeavor. The mayor would like to have a
golf tournament to raise enough money to make the scholarship fund self sustaining.
The mayor and E1Jay Waite have been making up the difference out of their own funds.
The tourney will be run in a scramble format and will be open to everyone. Becaus.e
it will be a city event the green fees will,be waived so all money taken in will eo
to the fund. It is hoped that this will become an annual event.
The board is all in favor of this event and suggested April 27 as the date. The
board instructed John Watson to work with Fleming and Mayor Nancolas in setting up
this program.
Fleming also reports that the Caldwell Youth games will be June 14,15,16. The qolf
portion will be at Fairview. Shirley Akagi as golf board representative will head
this.
Cooper thanked Fleming for attending the meeting. Mr. Fleming then left the
meeting.
Cooper then introduced Brian Culbertson, assistant Pro at Purple Sage who had
requested time before the board.
Brian said that he would like to establish a golf web page for the Caldwell courses.
He will put all kinds of information on this site. Brian said he would like to
attach it to the City of Caldwell web site and indicated that this will not be an
expensive project. The Board discussed this idea and then told Brian to put a
program together along with the costs involved and bring it to the March meeting.
Culbertson agreed to do this. _
