Mr. Newton said he is • attending the meeting to inform the board of the new proposed elementary school to possibly be built on EI Paso Road, near to purple sage golf course. Chairman Coaper introduced Mr. John Wright, a track coach at Caldwell High School. Mr. Wright told the board that �hey wouid again like to use Fairview Gcif Course for a cross- country track meet like they did last year. The date will be October 4`�. The board approved this request. 2) R�PORT FROiVI JOH�1 �►/A John said that he had been ta visit Lenny Stroup in the hospital, and Lenny is starting to �r�prove. John passed ouf his financia� reporf ancf said he weuld I�ave f�e year enct reporf for the next meeting. Jonn said many of the area golf courses are singing the btues, so he is pleased that Purple Sage is doing so well. Cooper said that we are still only running behind because of the snow in February. 3) REPORT �RO�VI LENNY STR��P No report from Lenny Stroup. He is in the hospital recovering from a hip repiacement operation. 4) REPORT FROM G�RDY CROCK�t � Gordy said that the new restrooms at Pur le said they have been punching the greens and that they hage been wo�king on theladies tee area on #8 at Purple Sage and putting new cart signs around the greens as requested by board member Dan Rowell. Gordy said they are planting some shrubs behind the #9 green at Fairview to keep balls from going across the street and hitting houses. 5) NEW OR OLD BUSINESS Cooper told the board that at the last meeting a discussion was held regarding dress codes for our golf courses. We came up with a policy for men but tabled the decision on women's code unti! the September meeting. Cooper asked John Watson if he had checked ot(�er area courses to see what kind of dress code they had for women, if any. John said he had not found any course that had a definite women's dress code in place. The board had a long discussion on the issue of ladies dress code. Cooper showed the board pictures of the outfits that the lady tennis players wore in the US Open. These outfits are pretty risque. The board felt it is a great idea to have the T-shirts to give to people who do not have on proper shirts. Dan Rowell asked how the fadies association feels about a fadies dress code. Georgia said that the lady goffers who play a lot of golf know what attire is appropriate for golf. A mation was made by Shannon Ozuna and seconded by Georgia Hersh that women shail be , attired in proper golf attire. The motion passed unanimously. 1 � � � � Shirley Akagi said that we should put a screen behind #7 green on Fairview to protect ! peopie teeing off on #8.
