Chairman Cooper called the meeting to order and took the roll call.
1) Chairman's report
Cooper wished the board a Happy New Year. Cooper reported talking with EIJay Waite about
the city's procedure for finding a replacement for Gordy Crockett, who wiil retire in April.
EIJay said he had been speaking to the peopie who are trying to put together a golf course
management company. Gordy said a couple of people have been trying to put together a
company to manage goif courses. EIJay said no decisions have been made and that the goif
• board will be advised and consulted as events develop.

Cooper noted to the board about the controversy in Nampa over the season pass policy they
• have. A player in Nampa has accused the City of Nampa and the Nampa Golf Board of
discrimination because they limit the number of season passes issued to those fortunate
enough �o already have one. The only way to obtain a pass is �o get on a wai�ing list and
hope somebody dies or doesn't renew their pass. This person said he has been on the list
for sEVeral years and is still not close to getting a pass.
Cooper said he is giad the Caldwell Board has left in place policies that do not allow for any
discrimination. Season passes are open to all comers in Caldwell. Cooper reported that
Shirley Akagi has placed our ads in the Press Tribune for their golf brochure and the
cavaicade issue.
2) REPORT FROM JOFtN WATSON
John reports that play was so good �n November and early December that we are ahead in
revenue for the year in spite of being closed because of snow.
John talked wi�h Eric Hanson who told him that �he property and house is going �o be put
up for sale. John told him to contact the city of Caldwell because we definitely should be
-:interested in buying it _ _
3) FROM LENNY STROUP -
Lenny repor�s �hat Fairview is open. They scraped the snow and ice from the greens. -
Ralph Warthin has requested a 50% discount on his new pass since he was unable to use
• his pass this year due to ill heaith. The board O:K.'d this request and asked Lenny to give
Mr. Warthin a 50�J discount for his 2002 pass. _
4) REPORT FROM GORDY CROCKETT
Gordy has been on vacation, but reports that the second new rest room construction will
begin as soon as weather permits.
5) NEW OR OLD BUSINESS
Shannon Ozuna asked Lenny if he had any comments about the Christmas lights that were
put up on lOt Street through the goif course. Lenny said people do not like the new lights
as mucn as they did the ones we have had in the past.
No other business the meeting was adjourned.
