reason he is not here.
Cooper informed the board that the cantracts for John Watson and Lenny Stroup are up for
• renewal. They are now negotiating with the city for new contracts. Cooper noted that John
has been here sixteen years and Lenny has been here for eleven years. Cooper praised the
• two pros for their years of service. Caoper said he would like to see the city treat them
fairly in the working aut a new con#ract and come up with a good working agreemertt. We
da not want to be iooking for new pros when we have these fine experienced people already
in place. Larry Rick and severai other board members spoke in praise of the two golf pros.

John thanked the board far their suport in the matter of the new contracts. John said he

Jahn said that we are running neck and neck in revenue against last year. He said that
many of the courses in the valley are down qui#e a bit from last year. John told the board
that Bryan Culbertson is playing in the Boise Buy.com open tourney. Jahn urged people to
c4me out and watch Bryan play.
Jahn said our Labor Qay Tourney is now one of the premier events of the state.
John has a letter from people of the Middleton community who would like to honor Cody
Hayes vrith a memorial tree and a stone bench beside it. They would like to do this on the
corner o# Purple Sage Road and EI Paso Road. Larry Rick made a motion, seconded by
Shirley Akagi, that we give permission for a memorial tree and stone bertch to be placed in
an appropriate place at Purple Sage to honor Cody Hayes. The motion passed
unanimously.
• 3} REPORT FROM LENNY STROUP
Lenny said that he, like John, appreciated the support from the board in the matter of the

employee.
Lenny said he is going to work at the Boise Buy.com tourney.
Loraine Navis said that she thought the abundance of mosquitoes had probably hurt play at
Fairview.
Pat Inglis asked how many season passes were sofd this year as compared to last year.
Shirley Akagi said that the list she was shown is 145 less than last year, but she didn't think
it was very accurate. A discussion was held on the system the city has far selling the
season tickets. Cooper said he thought the drop off in ticket sales is probably a result of
the higher cost for buying a spouse add-on ticket.
Lenny said that the ladies who play a# Fairview would like to do something for Leona
Rodwell. Probably a tree or samething like was done at Purple Sage.
