Glen says that now that the heat has abated the course is greening up , again. Shirley Akagi asked Glen if he realized that we are having a problem with cats in the • cart storage buildings. Glen answered that he didn't know there was a cat problem but he would check into it. Elvin Simpson said he had not seen any cats in the cart storage sheds. 3) REPORT FROM JOHN SHREINER John said that the greens have been punched at Fairview. John said they are working on the bare spots in the fairways and are going to wait until spring to repair the putting green. He also said they are going to try to enlarge number 7 green. Work on the tunnel under lOt street will not be started until money becomes available. 4) REPORT FROM JOHN WATSON John said that receipts for august are down about $500, but still up about 7% for the year. He reports that things are going smoothly. He reports that we heid on to all of our tournaments except the Coyote Open, which is being held at River Bend. 5) REPORT FROM LENNY STROUP Lenny says play has been slow at Fairview but the new 9-hole rate has been popular especially with the heat. Lenny says the course is in the best shape he has ever seen and we can only blame the economy, the heat and the mosquitoes for the downturn this year. Lenny also they have also had several flags stolen. Cooper asked Lenny if he would like to bring up the credit and refund policy to the board. Lenny said that for the last few years we have been taking each request for a credit or refund on a case by case basis. Now we have adopted a hard line policy and I think it is unfair. I think we should take another look at it. if they were all buying season passes in January and then these dates of April , May and June would be one thing. But to have people buy season tickets in March or April and the have an operation or something in June they have no recourse to get a credit. Shirley Akagi said she agrees with Lenny that we should consider reworking the policy so it is more lenient. Lenny said that he realizes we need a policy but perhaps we need to move the months back so that people have more time to file for a refund or credit. A discussion followed on the credit and refund policy. It was suggested that instead of June lst being the cut off day, July or August would be more appropriate. It was decided to postpone a decision on this issue until the October meeting. 6) NEW OR OLD BUSINESS Pat Inglis asked if we could do more advertising to help improve our business. Cooper told Pat that we run a series of ads every spring to let people know our rates and about our season tickets. No more business, meeting adjourned.
