Cooper said we will run through the regu; iar reports before discussing the purple sage improvements. REPORT FROM GLEId KUSHLAN • Glen said that there is water in the canals so we can irrigate. He said they have been fertilizing tl�e fairways. He also said that the piayers had done a good job of staying on the cart paths this winter. Jeff Osgood suggested that we play the 90 degree rule all the time, summer and winter. Georgia Hersh asked Gien when he was going to put up the colored yardage marker stakes. Glen said he was hoping that we could get along without them Cooper said he had heard some complaints from golfers about the absence of the colored stakes. it was decided to go without the stakes until the next meeting and then decide if we shouid put them up. 2) REPORT FROM JOHN SHREINER John said the water is in and they have started mowing. 3) REPORT FRON VINTON HOWELL The workers are busy cieaning up the winter debris from the courses. We are now hiring our seasonal help. Vinton said he is personally interviewing all the workers. Elvin Simpson commended both greens keepers on the job they have done in cleaning up the courses. Dan Rowell asked Vinton if they could do anything to smooth out the cart paths at Purple Sage. Vinton said that it is hard because the paths were put too close to the trees and the roots are the big problem. He said we might have to re-route some of the paths. Cooper said that in thinking of improvements at Purple Sage improving the cart paths shoutd be high on the list. • 4) REPORT FROM JOHN WATSON John passed out his financial report. He said we are up for the year, which is remarkable considering we were clased because of snow for almost two months. He said the new season tickets are selling at a brisk pace. John said they have sold a few value cards. 5) REPORT FROM LENNY STROUP Lenny said that the value cards are not selling at Fairview. He wants the card at Fairview changed to a 9-hole rate with the rate figured for weekdays. He said a Monday through Friday 9-hole punch card would work. Lenny said he is selling lots of Fairview only season tickets. Lenny said his renovation project is proceeding at Fairview. This project enlarges his workshop area. Lenny said he would like to have the next meeting at Fairview so we can discuss improvements down there. 6) NEW QR OLD BUSI[�ESS A discussion was held about the property that we are buying south of Purple Sage. Jeff Osgood said that this property is undoubtedly increasing in value. i , . - -• r � Pat inglis said that the men's association would like to turn the card roam in the Pur�;e Sage clubhouse into a trophy room. John Watson said it is a great idea. Pat Ingiis made a motion that the card room at purpie Sage clubhouse be turned into a trophy room. Seconded by Georgia Hersh. Motion passed unanimously. Pat Inglis said the men's association would ►ike to have a couple of chapmans on a Saturday-Sunday in May. The board reminded Pat that we are not having any more tournements that are not revenue bea ri ng. Lenny said that the PGA is having a Golf Day in May to promote golf. A discussion was held on improvements to be made at Purple Sage. Hopefully the City Council will help out by budgeting some money for these improvements for next year (2005) Here is a list of improvements that the board members would like to see done: Short term improvements• Glen Kushlan- Improve sand traps and remove some trees close to cart paths Vinton Howeil — Improve cart paths Georgia Hersh — Improve and beautify the frontage area of the clubhouse John Watson — Agrees with Georgia about improving the frontage area Cooper— improve greens where passible • Long Term Imqrovements: Glen Kushlan — Would like chain link fence around entire golf course and a lean-to at the maintenance shop. Also would like fairway bunker on hole #7 Pat inglis — Improvement to all tee boxes. Vinton Howell will take this list to the council budget meetings. Cooper said the April meeting will be at Fairview. No more business meeting adjourned. �
