Copies of the March minutes along with golf receipts were handed to each
member along with the Agenda.
Chairman Don reported that the golf receipts showed an increase of
$ 32,052.49 over last year at this time.
John Watson had Herb Lafferty appear before the Board as he was interested
in getting a Senior Tournament started at Purple Sage on Tuesday mornings.
He said he had 30 signed up and thought it would be about 50.
Lenny Stroup was concerned about the effect this would have on the Friday
Senior Play.
The Board decided to let John try this for a month starting April 21
with a shotgun start at 9:30.
John said he would start them on 18,17 16 15 and 1.
John to report at next meeting.
Chairman Don asked Gordy about the Budget, Gordy said when they get started
on it he will report at the next meeting.

Gordy said to date he has spent: $10,020 on sod; $ 4,250.00 R.R.Ties:
Marshal cart is being repaired.
Mat on # 7 at Fairview is in :

tee boxes.
Mike Garman : Reported that the bill for the R.R.Ties was $4250.
After a discussion it was decided to have Lisa make out a check to
Mike from the "Course Fund" as he had taken care of the payment.
Kris Inouye: Reported he has about $11,500 coming in for the tee boxes.
Mike has $3500. to be collected total is $14,000.
Kris said they would try to have all this in by May.
Names of sponsors; John c. Watson Farms=$1500. Inouye Farms:$1500.
T& K Farms:$1500. Allendale Produce: $1,000. Medical Clinic:$500.
Seve ,Isaacson: $500. Tom Baxter: $SOO. Yamamoto Farms: $1,000

Kris mentioned that he had the Vice-President of Honda Co. as a guest
playing Purple Sage and how impressed he was with the golf course the
condition of it and had nothing but high praise for it.
Kris asked asked if the names could be put in the R.R.Ties using the
granite that Steve Fouts suggested, more on this at next meeting.
John Watson handed Chairman Tolley a list of the Tournaments for the
year.
John asked if the Board had given a pass to Art Solis last year he was
given one but didn't have time to play.
Bill Moad moved that a pass be issued to Art,seconded by Kris, motion
carried.
John asked who has the priority when the workers are working or mowing
the green, is it the player or worker.
If the worker is almost finished with the green he should finish, if he
hasen't started then the player, just use good judgement.
Lenny Stroup had a request from the Albertson College to use Fairview for
five weeks =two days a week =two foursomesstarting at 2:45
Lenny was told the schools pay $100.
Kris moved that we charge them $100. seconded by Shirley, Motion carried
with two opposed, Bill and Craig they were €or green fees.
Lenny asked about getting a pay phone installed around the clubhouse.
He said with all these JR.Golfers its really a problem.
Lenny and Don would go see Teri Ottens and get this taken care of.
The Board all felt he should have a pay phone .
Lenny also asked about Charity Golf. he was told the Pros can use their
judgement on these its like four green fees and two carts.
But the Board wants a report from the Pros on all Charity Golf.
John and Lenn
y both had discussed the Trail Fee situation and came up
with making 5x7 cards with a string then a date would be stamped on it
the day the cart is brought on the course.
If cart stickers are used for 1992 they should be on the the left bumper
so the pro can see it, or they should be visible.
Lloyd Nelsen said he met with Jim McGarvin and John on the Patio at
Purple Sage and that Jim said he couldn't guarantee the roof against the
wind etc. the cost would be around $5,000-7,000.
Lloyd was asked to get another bid for this project.Lloyd will have more
to report at next meeting.
Lloyd said he met with Lenny and John and they can work together on the
Income etc from both courses
This is to be used for future use and not to be made public . Just to
the Mayor and chairman of golf board.
Mike Garman asked about a sign on Interstate for Purple and Fairview.
Don appointed Mike to look into this.
Bill Moad asked when # 15 & 18 would be finished , Gordy said this would be
the last one. Bill asked if it would be "ready for the Basque Tournament.
Gordy said yes.
Bill asked if the Basque Group could have a letter confirming the yearly
, tournament for the first saturday in June.
This is put on the schedule but please check with the Pro to make sure
it is taken care of.
Bill said he had 15 dealers for the Casino-Nite:
Shirley Akagi read a thank you note from Jean Balding for the refund on
her 91 season ticket.
The discussion on sand for the sand traps came up agin and it was decided
to try this white sand on # 18 on both the left and right traps.
The Board all felt Gordy and his crew have done a great job and that the
course really looks great.
Edie thanked Don for the letter to the ladies on the flowers.
Edies also had a request from the I.G.A. wanting to hold the Ladies State
Tournament at Purple Sage in 1993,.Ths is held on Tuesday, Wednesday
Thursday also green fees are paid for this tournament.
The board said O.K. but thought the State should have the Men's Tournament
at Purple sometime it seems they won't hold it here.
This is something the Men's association will have to take care of.
Mike said he thought if the city could come up with some property that
Dick Hurst would be interested in making a deal.
Don said they would get with the Mayor and Teri on this and see what comes
up.
Aletter to be sent to Mayor regarding Hurst property.
Lenny asked about getting the parking spaces at Fairview repainted as
some of the cars take up two spaces and if the paint is visible then
more cars could be parked.
Gordy said he would speak with the City Engineer to take care of this.
Gordy said they are to start on the cart storage at Fairview next month.
Craig asked if something couldn't be done about the Driving Range, tires
need to be painted etc.
Gordy said it was more important to finish the tee boxes. Board said to
table this for now.
Don read a letter from Bo Vertrees about #4. Board said keep tee box
on right side also a sign to be posted "GOLFERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR
DAMAGE DONE TO HOMES" perhaps this will take care of the problem.
Don brought up the number of golf carts allowed in a group. They have
had five players with five carts .Also there was arule no more then
three carts to a group. It was decided to table this for now and will
keep an eye on groups using carts.
With no further business meeting adjourned at 10:30 a.m.
Next meeting will be held May 13 at 8:00 a.m.
Respectfully submitted

.
Cinco De Mayo Tournament is always held at Fairview, Troy had a request
at the January 8,1992 meeting for this tournament.
Lloyd Nelsen moved that we allow this, seconded by Edie Stuthiet, motion
carried.
March 11,92 meeting Council-Liaison Dan Ozuna asked to have the tournament
changed to May 3 as that is the day eveything takes place at the Park
But since the Men's Association has a tournament that week-end at Fairview
it was impossible to have it.
The Caldwell Parks & Recreation mailed out the "92” Brochure with the
May 9 date.
Dan Ozuna wanted to have the tournament at Purple Sage in the morning but
was told that both courses can't be closed at the same time.
The tournament will be held at Purple Sage on May 3 at 2:00 p.m. with
about 70 players and this is all green fees.
Lenny Stroup was asking about this as it affected his revenue such as
cart rental, merchandise and also the food counter.
The Board felt that the person in charge of this should get with the
Pro and set the dates for next year so as not to have this problem again.
