HomeMy WebLinkAbout01-09-1991 GOLF MINUTES �.:�:_ _ u .. . :,:, . , GOLF BOARD MEETING JANUARY 9,1991 Meeting of the Caldwell Golf Board was held at City Hall at 8:00 a.m. January 8,1991. MEMBERS PRESENT: Council-Liaison Bob Jarboe, Supt. Gordy Crockett Pro. Troy Vitek, Jim Guy, Bob Sower,Laura Gamboa Shirley Akagi-Ladies Association. Members Absent: Kris Inouye fogged in at Denver: Rick Sweaney. ' Copies of the Dec 6th meeting along with Dec, golf receipts handed to each member. Laura read the dates of the advertising that John Watson had given her in regard to the Fee schedule that will appear in the Statesman also the cost.( 3x42 Sports Page) Dates January 29, 27, February 3& 10 twice a week for four weeks. Cost is $2,229.22 Also 3 column ad Jan.23 & 30, Feb. 6& 13. Bob Jarboe suggested that if we have any money left in advertising it would be nice to spend some with K.C.I.D. Laura asked Gordy if we had the No Trespassing outs at Purple Sage,also Fairview,Fairview has them. Jim Guy reported on the Byrle Morse Tournament, said he would have the proper document and all the information at the next meeting. Bob Jarboe said the City sold some property for $14,000 by the park Board members asked Bob If that could be used towards trying to buy Dick Hurst's property. Board feels that another cart storage is a must also need more parking down there. Bob Jarboe also mentioned that he had talked with Laura and they would like to try and have some more Fund-Raising maybe a Casino Nite,etc. Members were asked to be thinking about this so at the February meeting it could be decided. Troy said he had about 15 people on the waiting list. Gordy said they had installed three large fans at Purple Sage. Gordy said that in one week they had used 460 gallons of Propane at the Clubhouse at Purple. Gordy said the first thing as soon as it clears will be getting the cart paths finished at Purple Sage. Board asked Gordy if Art Solis was given a pass for the cart paths,Gordy to check with Betty Jo.(A.S.C. Asphalt Co) Laura said she would call Jim McGarvin about the cart storage as he couldn"t make the meeting today. Jim Guy asked Gordy if some type of Wall Heater could be installed at Fairview by the two large windows. Gordy will check into this also the cost. r . Troy Vitek said he had contacted the City Attorney in regard to the Scorecards, they were to send them a letter , wait 10 days and then call them. Troy said he will get with the Attorney to see what has taken place. Gordy asked about the Scorecards for Purple Sage, Perhaps John will have some information on this. Troy said the �oach from Middleton thinks that the J.V. Team should also play Purple Sage, also the Middleton J.V. Team is larger then should be. It was decided that a letter should be sent to all schools, stating the rules etc, this will be taken care of in the February meeting so John Watson can be in on the discussion. Jim Guy said the Coach should always be there and that he should make the tee-time and by all means make Middleton stick with the rules. Laura asked Troy to invite the Coach from Middleton and CaldwellHigh to our next meeting. Shirley Akagi wondered if the Coaches went over the rules with the kids. Shirley said the Caldwell Ladies donated six fruit baskets for Senior Citizens this donation was collected at the Christmas Party($205.) Troy said the Janitor is working out at Fairview name is Dan Ritzert. With no further business meeting adjourned at 9:30 a.m. Next meeting will be the first Wednesday February 6,1991.
