Meeting of the Caldwell Golf Board was held at City Hall on July 11,1990
at 8:00 a.m.
Members Present: Council-Liaison Bob Jarboe, Bob Sower, Laura Gamboa
Ric Coles,and Jim Guy. Pro John Watson,Pro Troy Vitek
Supt. Gordy Crockett and Bill Ballard representing the
Men's Association.
Members Absent: Kris Inouye and Rick Sweaney.
Copies of the June meeting along with the golf receipts were handed to
each member.

Troy Vitek had a rough copy of the plans for a Gazebo to built at Fairview
in the near future. There will be more discussion on this at a later date.
We are hoping to receive a grant from the Caldwell Community to help
finance this project.
Troy asked if it would be possible to get the outdoor matting installed
because the carpet on the patio is worn and people could fall.
Gordy said he had been waiting on Dan but would get on this rigl��-awa�.
Troy said he had a request from a chur.ch group for a tournament to be held
October 20 and that Purple Sage would be free of tournaments that day.
The Board told Troy to go ahead with the tournament.
Gordy was asked to please get the siding taken care of at the Fairview
Clubhouse.
Laura congratulated Bob Sower for his interest in getting a City Band
for taking such an interest in the community-thanks Bob for a great job.
Several Board members felt that a marshal is needed early morning rather
then the afternoon in this hot weather. John said that next year we will
have full time. Members were tired of complaints.
The Board members all thanked Gordy and his crew for taking such good care
of both courses, trying to keep enough water on the greens etc.
Gordy said this extreme heat is really hard to keep up with.
Gordy reported they are getting ready to put in the Irrigation in the
Roughs, once this is in it will make quite a difference.
Gordy said they had worked on the Restroom on #6 , the tree roots were
causing the problem.
Gordy said the painting of the cart sheds should be done by next month.
Laura asked Gordy if he had done anything about the Night Locks for the
restrooms at Fairview- not as yet.
Gordy said that he was told by Gene Enob that if we could get people to
donate for asphalt that ��}@W contractorin the city would lay it for free.
It was decided that if people pay for so many tons the cost per ton was
around $24.00 , there is little over 5 miles of cart paths, about 30,000 ft

� Purple Sage road will not be torn up as was expeeted the repairs have
been postponed until next year.
Gordy and Bob Jarboe were going to find out today if he would be able
to get the new mower he has been trying out.he would be able to save
$5.000 if it were purchased now.
Jim Guy talked about the 90° rule and showed the book that had the signs
the cost would be about $37.00.
Should have two on 10 and two on 1. Gordy was asked to please order signs.
Bob Jarboe reported that Mayor Dakan is still working on trying to get
the land across the road from Purple Sage.
Bob also said that at the Budget Workshop Meeting that Lisa had stated
she was_very pl�ased�with the work from the Golf Board on the BudgSt. �

Bill Bal�ard hard nothing to report from the Men's Association.
Ric Coles said after looking over the Jerry Millegar Fountain that the
best thing to do was get a new sink, but after some discussion it was
decided that it would be best to take sink out and put white rocks in there.
It was voted that we remove sink and fill with white rocks.
Jim Guy asked what caused the water hole on #7 and Gordy said that the
two sprinklers hit together there and with the tree there that was the
cause of it.
John Watson said that half of the field was filled for the Idaho Open
but he was sure it would be a good turn out.
John said he would get the sign up for the asphalt donations as soon as
we had a report from Kris Inouye.
Golf Board Meeting is changed in August to Thursday -August 9 at 8:00
at City Hall.
With no further business meeting adjourned at 9:15 a.m.
