1. LETTER FROM THE ATTORNEY
Mr. Tolley handed out a copy of the letter from the
attorneys concerning their conversation with Gaylon Coats. Mr.
Coats is the consultant for the irrigation system planned for
Purple Sage. The letter addressed the irrigation water usage and
the proper procedure for securing the financing.
2. LENNY STROUP - FAIRVIEW SHELTER REPORT
Mr. Tolley stated that the patio/storage room renovation has
not been started yet. Lenny Stroup and a friend are going to
construct this. Mr. Tolley said this must start by Sept. 1st or
we may lose the grant for $1500. to do this.
3. SIGN SHEETS FOR CART RENTAL
Mr. Tolley asked John Watson if new sign up sheets for cart
rental had been done yet. These sign up sheets would state that
the City and Purple Sage Golf Course are not liable should an
accident occur while using the carts. These will be similar to
the ones Lenny uses at Fairview Golf Course. Mr. Watson was
unaware of the request so Bill Schwind will get a copy of Lenny's
form to him so Purple Sage can revise their form.
r
` 4. TRESPASSING SIGNB AT BOTH COURSE8
It was asked if the trespassing signs were up at the
courses. Gordy stated that both courses do have signs displayed.
5. MAINTENANCE AT PURPLE SAGE: AIR CONDITIONER AND COBWEBB
It was said that the air conditioner in the basement is
hooked up and working fine. Also the cobwebs on the exterior of
the building have been cleaned off.
6. ITEMS NOT COMPLETED: HOURS POSTED - CLEAN UP SIGN -
TRAILER SIGNS
Mr. Tolley said that the "Hours Opened" sign has not been
posted. He asked if the hours are sun up to sun down or 9:00 a.m.
to 9:00 p.m.? John Watson said that the course runs basically
from sun up to sun down but they do not have a problem with
patrons staying late into the night. John felt there was no need
to put up a sign. After some discussion, it was decided that
John will use his discretion on posting a sign. It was also said
that the clean up and trailer signs have been posted in their
respective areas.
7. BIRD NEST ON PATIO
Mr. Tolley asked if the birds nest on the patio at Purple
Sage can be removed. Gordy said that this has been done.
8. MARSHALLS DUTIES
Mr. Tolley asked if the duties for the Marshalls have been
defined and explained to them. John stated that this has been I
done.
9. REFOND REQUEST: DARNIN FELLER
Darwin Feller has sent a letter to the Golf Board requesting
a refund on a season pass. His health has deteriorated over the
past couple of months and can no longer play. He also requested
that if a refund is not possible, could his son be signed over on
his pass.
After some discussion, it was decided to follow the refund
policy. No refund and no transfer of pass. A letter will be sent
to Mr. Feller.
10. LONG RANGE PLANNING MEETING - AUGUST 12 AT 12:00 NOON
' Mr. Tolley stated that there will be a long range planning
meeting concerning the golf courses Friday, August 12. This will
be at 12:00 noon. One of the items to be discussed will be the
possibility of purchasing additional land near Purple Sage Golf
course.
. .
` 11. TOURNAMENT PAY POLICY
It was said that all tournament fees must be paid on the day
the tournament is held. Laura Gamboa stated that one tournament
fee came in after the event was held. More on tournament policy on
back page.
12. YARDAGE MARRERS
It was commented that the yardage markers at Purple Sage
look great and are easier to read.
13. ANNOIINCEMENTS/ADJOURNMENT
Gordy was asked to remove weeds by the pump house at
Fairview Golf course. These are getting 3' high.
Bill said that the attorneys are working on the irrigation
system issue. They are preparing a resolution to present to City
Council. Council must lock in figures and return this to the
attorneys. The whole process will take several months and the
system will not be installed before spring of 1995.
The State Safety Inspector visited the City last week.
There are a few minor problems which need to be corrected at both
Purple Sage and Fairview.
A pump in the Pump house needs to be repacked. Some water is
spraying from this and it could be a potential shock hazard.
Air conditioner, heating unit at Purple Sage needs cleaned.
Maintenance room/ storage area: clean up paint and thinner
cans.
At Fairview, there is a cable which is hanging low to the
ground and someone could trip over it. Also a sign is needed
on gas pump for emergency pump shut-off.
Bill stated that he will deliver the inspection sheets to each
course so they can correct each item.
Bill also stated that the janitorial rates are going up. The
fee for Purple Sage will be $96.00, up from $81.00 and Fairview
ill be $75.00, up from $65.00. This will go into effect in
October. Since there has been some complaints about the service,
this would be a good time to revise the contract and/or hire a
new company.
Dave Paulsen said they will be having the City Championship
th'is weekend at Fairview and Purple Sage golf courses.
Gordy Crockett said that the patio is 95 stained. They will
finish this week.
Meeting adjourned at 8:50.
 r rOURNAMENT POLICY:
.
At the time Bob Jarboe was the Council-Liaison the policy for
collecting fees was discussed and there was to be a letter stating
the rules, signed by the Mayor and Council.
Each Tournament was to pay the green fees the day of the tournament
Ther were problems trying to collect after'some were held.
The Pro would have to call several times, trying to get the money.
The Board felt it would be in the best interest to have a policy
that could be handed to each Tournament Chairman, This would be
of great help to the Pro.
Respectfully submitted,
 `.,:
