M. UPDATE FROM CHAIRMAN OSGO Jeff initiated discussion regarding re-establishing monthly meeting schedule. Motion by Dan Rowell: "Effective beginning in April, 2008, the regular monthly meeting will be held at 8:00 A. M. on the third Wednesday of each month. Place of ineeting to be a designated meeting room at the Caldwell Police Department." Second by Shirley Akagi. Passed by unanimous vote. Determined that in ak�sence of both Chairman and Vice-Chairman, George Scott is to serve as Presiding Officer. . UPDATE FROM KEN WHEELER Spring course preparation is on schedule and progressing to a satisfactory degree. Credit due to maintaining a full crew of eight--six of whom are returning ��► staff. Maintenance cost.increases, highlighted by 68/ for fuel and accompanied by sizeable hikes in parts, fertilizer and other necessary items tends to adequately justify the need for recently authorized 5% increase in passes for 2008. Ken reiterated that there will be a Marshall System in operation during the coming season. His call for volunteers to serve with possible compensation in the form of golf passes, did not bring forth any interested individuals. His planned alternative will be to hire people that will be paid an hourly wage. �he �a�tnatn nolicy initiated in ivovember, 2GG7 iias �e�ii generally well accepted and adherence to the signing system is progressing favorably. Player reminders and necessary enforcement measures are planned for the future. UPDATE FROM JOHN WATSON �, John gave a capsule explanation regarding recent absence from his course job and related meetings. Provided an overview of the February-March golfing experience at Purple Sage. It was realistically a rather sobering report. That period outlook was necessarily dimmed. by the weather and other uncontrollable factors--such as gasoline � price and overall economic outlook. The numbers for the aforementioned period are not reasonable for comparison. We definitely need to strive for a better �turnout as spring progresses. LENNIE STROUP UPDA Lennie indicated that the Fairview experience was somewhat an echo of that at Purple Sage. On a positive note--Junior Golf is holding steady, OLD BUSINESS Chairman Osgood recognized Larry Rick of CMGA. Larry requested consideration of the need to reinstate the ori�inal unrestricted season pass. This request prompted considerable pro and con discussion. The following action resulted. . .. r� Motion by Geor ia Hersh "Restricted pass ho.lders may play during the restricted weekend and holiday periods by payment of one-half of the regular green fee.�� Second by Shirley Akagi. Passed by unanimous vote. DEFRIBULATORS Lennie Stroup initiated discussion by citing a localized example of such equipment that was recently used to save a life on a golf course. John Houston of CMGA is on a list that will probably result ! - i n nt7r cr�r77i iny p�F i��hA non°��µi�r iµni±�c. l FINANCIAL CONSIDERATIONS E1Jay Waite announced that there is to be a future meeting with CMGA representatives. Stated purpose is to consider plans and ideas for the future. Results will eventua��y pass through the Golf Board. NEW BUSINESS Consideration of "Purple Sage Promotion Day It was acknowledged that there is need to increase play. Much discussion ensued. Focus was o�t,examples of reduced rate promotions in the area._____ _ __ _ _ ---- __ ---- _.-- ---- - ._ � Motion by Larry Rick: "Effective Monday, March 31--and continuing on each Monday thereafter==green fees for 18-holes at Purple Sage will be reduced to $13.00;cart rental will be reduced to $7.00." Second by Georga Hersh Passed by unanimous vote. Related discussion brought out a variety of ineans and methods whereby this action will be promoted. Meeting adjourned at 9:35 A. M.
