1PPROVEE.
July minutes approved. cG9..1-.°-`:
John Watson (Purple Sage Pro) — Revenue is hanging in there. Hunter's Point and River
Bend are proving to be good competition due to low price days. State Employees fund
raiser is scheduled for Saturday, August zg There has been no response on the
"corporate pass" situation.
Lenny Stroup (Fairview Pro) — July revenue is down, approximately $300, from last year,
with August holding firm. Total rounds (season passes and green fees) are solid compared
to last year. The city championship, to be played at both courses (Fairview — Saturday and
Purple Sage — Sunday). Shirley Akagi mentioned the need for the dress code to be
enforced at Fairview.
Ken Wheeler (Superintendent) — Airification went well; however, there were some problem
areas (i.e. #z at Purple Sage). Areas of concern are not consistent, but most can be
explained by the labor cutbacks. It is very difficult to predict/plan with the shortage of
manpower. A pump broke, however, the rain saved us and there wasn't a huge drying out
of the course.
Shirley Akagi — The golf show next year, do we want to be a participant or not. Discussion
centered on the positive reception by all. Wally Hammons moved and Lorene Navis
seconded that we maintain a presence next year, and it passed unanimously.
