(I) CHAIRMAN'S REPORT . Chairman Cooper asked the board members to please talk in a loud clear voice because it makes it difficult to do the minutes from the tape recorder when people talk low and mumble. Cooper welcomed Shannon Ozuna, the new council representative, to the board. Cooper told the board that the change of administration at City Hall should not affect the golf situation. He said that Mayor Winder had briefed new mayor Nancotas on the Bushnell property and what needs to be done. , � . ,� �i Cooper asked Gordy Crockett how the parking lot was coming at Fairview. Gordy said they were in the process of getting the trees cut down. He said he thought the lot would hold 30 to 40 cars. Cooper asked John Watson if he was ready to open Purple Sage on the 1 ST of February. John said that he was. (II) REPORT FROM JOHN WATSON John said he was working on the equipment in the clubhouse. He said his new golf carts were ordered and should be in this spring. John said he had hired Jeff ' Taylor, who worked at Purple Sage a few years ago, as an assistant pro. He said that Zach would be back again. (III) REPORT FROM LENNY STROUP Lenny said he had a good vacation down south and had played in an event in Los Vegas with Kay Akagi and a team of Caldwell players. Lenny said that the Cinco de Mayo people wish to have a tourney at Fairview on Saturday May 9 th. The board members told Stroup to go ahead with this event. Bill Moad asked if the courses were taking credit cards now. Lenny said he was set up and was taking cards and the system was working fine. John Watson said he would get set up to take credit cards as soon as the course opens on February 1. Lenny said several people from Nampa had purchased season tickets on credit cards. They are buying in Caldwell because of the high rates in Nampa. (IV) REPORT FROM GORDY CROCKETT Gordy said that cart paths would be put in at Fairview on holes one and two this summer. Gordy said some fencing would be put up at Fairview. Bill Moad asked Gordy if perhaps some mounds on simulated greens could be put on the driving range to improve the practice area. Gordy said he would look into this. Loraine Navis said she had a letter from Jack and Margaret Felt, who have a home on #16 fairway at Purple Sage, complimenting Gordy and his crew on how great the course looked last summer.
