Chairman Cooper called the meeting to order .
(I) CHAIRMAN'S REPORT
. Chairman Cooper asked the board members to please talk in a loud clear voice
because it makes it difficult to do the minutes from the tape recorder when people talk
low and mumble.
Cooper welcomed Shannon Ozuna, the new council representative, to the board.
Cooper told the board that the change of administration at City Hall should not
affect the golf situation. He said that Mayor Winder had briefed new mayor Nancotas
on the Bushnell property and what needs to be done.

Cooper asked Gordy Crockett how the parking lot was coming at Fairview.
Gordy said they were in the process of getting the trees cut down. He said he thought
the lot would hold 30 to 40 cars.
Cooper asked John Watson if he was ready to open Purple Sage on the 1 ST of
February. John said that he was.
(II) REPORT FROM JOHN WATSON
John said he was working on the equipment in the clubhouse. He said his new
golf carts were ordered and should be in this spring. John said he had hired Jeff '
Taylor, who worked at Purple Sage a few years ago, as an assistant pro. He said that
Zach would be back again.
(III) REPORT FROM LENNY STROUP
Lenny said he had a good vacation down south and had played in an event in
Los Vegas with Kay Akagi and a team of Caldwell players.
Lenny said that the Cinco de Mayo people wish to have a tourney at Fairview
on Saturday May 9 th. The board members told Stroup to go ahead with this event.
Bill Moad asked if the courses were taking credit cards now. Lenny said he was
set up and was taking cards and the system was working fine. John Watson said he
would get set up to take credit cards as soon as the course opens on February 1.
Lenny said several people from Nampa had purchased season tickets on credit
cards. They are buying in Caldwell because of the high rates in Nampa.
(IV) REPORT FROM GORDY CROCKETT
Gordy said that cart paths would be put in at Fairview on holes one and two this
summer. Gordy said some fencing would be put up at Fairview.
Bill Moad asked Gordy if perhaps some mounds on simulated greens could be
put on the driving range to improve the practice area. Gordy said he would look into
this. Loraine Navis said she had a letter from Jack and Margaret Felt, who have a
home on #16 fairway at Purple Sage, complimenting Gordy and his crew on how great
the course looked last summer.
