A discussion was held on the slow play policy used on the Caldwell courses. It was decided that our policy of not being too harsh on slow players is the proper procedure for a municipal course. Cooper told the board that arrangements had been made with Mr. Capps of the Press Tribune to have an ad in their golf brochure. Mr. Cooper said that Jim McGarvin had a meeting with the mayor regarding the building of a new cart storage shed at Purple Sage. The Mayor was receptive to this plan and said he would help get it started. �, � 2) REPORT FROM JOFII1 WAT30N John Watson read a letter from the Rocky Mountain Section of the PGA asking if they could hold the 1999 championship tournament at Purple Sage. They would like to schedule the tourney for September 30-October 1, 1999. John said that this is a great event and that it is an honor to have them ask to use Purple Sage. Loraine Navis made a motion that we allow the Rocky Mountain Section of the PGA to hold their Championship Tournament at Purple Sage in 1999. The motion was seconded by Shirley Akagi and passed unanimously. John said play at Purple Sage had been very good and that they had sold lots of season passes. He said many passes had been sold on the credit card system. 2) REPORT FROM LENNY 3TROUP Lenny said that play at Fairview had been great. Lenny said he had hired a young man to help run the shop at Fairview. His name is Brian Culbertson. Lenny said he is a nice young fellow who wants to get into the golf business. Lenny said the pro-lady tournament would be Friday and it looked like they would have about fifteen teams. 3) REPORT FROM GORDY CROCKETT Gordy said he had looked into the repairing of the Floors in the rest rooms in the club house at Purple Sage and Fairview. Gordy said the greens were being punched at Purple Sage. Gordy also reported that the bridge leading �o hole #2 is now finished. The board members all agreed that the new bridge looks great. As there was no other business the meeting was adjourned. , �
