Chairman's Aeport
Chairman Cooper welcomed Korrine Sword back as the ladies association
presidnt. Cooper introduced Rich Spengler to the board. Spengler
puts out the golf brochure called GoTf South Idaho. The brochure gives
data on 43 courses across South Idaho. Spengler thanked the board for
the advertising for the last year and said he hoped they would
partici, pate again. Spengler then outlined the plan for the 1999
edition. Coope¢ asked what the cost would be to run the same ad again.
Spengler said it would be $745.00, less 15o if the artwork was already
done. Spengler said he would like to see Caldwell run a full-page ad
instead of a half page. He said the rate for a four-color full page
would be $1A75.OQ and a black and white would be $1110.00. The board
had a short discussion about the merit of being in the publication. It
was aqreed that having them in the motels and hotels and at the Chamber
of Comerce was a good thing. It was moved and seconded that we go
with a half page black and white ad for $745.00. The motion passed
unanimously.

Mr. Spenqler then said that his company was now doing golf course sign
layouts. He showed some exampTes of their signs and benches with
advertising on them. The company name is "Green Light". He said they
had siqned up Boise Ranch and were working with faur other courses.
Cooper thanked Spengler for his presentation and said we would take it
under consideration. A discussion was held on the current situation on
our siqns at the tee boxes. It was aqreed that our signs are getting
pretty shopworn. It was noted that the signs at Purple Sage and
'airviw were put in by two different companies. It was decided that
we should find out the status of the sign people who we have been
workinr with and see what they have to offer.
