AGENDA
1} Chairman's Report
2) Report from John Watson
3) Report from Lenny Stroup
4) Report from Gordy Crockett
5} New Business
Chairman Cooper called the meeting to order and took the roll
1) CHAIRMAN'S REPORT
Cooper apologized to the board for changing the meeting day from
Wednesday to Thursday. He said that was probably reason that so many
members were absent. People get used to having the meeting on
Wednesdays and set their schedules that way, and when the date is
changed, it fouls them up.
Cooper advised the board that the City Council wanted their
recommendation for fees for the year 2000.
During the ensuing discussion, Cooper said that he would like to
see us keep our fees as reasonable as possible and still be able to
meet our obligations. He read figures from other golf courses in the
valley as a comparison to the fees charged by the Caldwell courses.
Shirley Akagi agreed with Cooper that the fees should not be
raised very much as long as we are taking in enough money to cover our
expenses.
A long discussion followed on the fee structure
and the following was recommended (copy attached)..
REPORT FROM JOHN WATSON
John reports that all is going well at Purple Sage. During the
fee discussion, he also agreed with the idea of keeping fees as low as
possible.
3) REPORT FROM LENNY STROUP
Lenny says he has signed up a real bunch for the junior golf
program. Shirley asked if it was a new requirement that they have to
live in Canyon County to be in the junior golf program. Lenny said
that that was true.
4} REPORT FROM GORDY CROCRETT
Loraine Navis asked when the Fairview parking lot would be done.
E1Jay Waite said that it was going to cost $18,000 to get this done and
that we dan't have enough money to do it this year but will try to get
it in the next budget process.
Gordy said everything in his department is going good.
NEW BUSINESS:
Shirley Akagi asked Gordy about the grass being mowed at
different levels around the greens at Fairview. Gordy said that they
were addressing this problem He said it was hard to mow the small
bunkers around the greens at the same level as the other grass.
Shirley asked how often the rest rooms were cleaned at Purple
Sage. Gordy said that they are cleaned every day.
No further business.
Meeting adjourned
