The Board members did appreciate the ideas 'however most all the items listed have already been discussed and have been done ,some can't be done right now due to the expenses but all are in the "Long Range Planning" FAIRVIEW: Keep under pass clean, Gordy said they would try to keep it cleaner. Remove dead trees from drain ditch: They have to wait to get city truck so that will be taken care of as soon as possible. Board felt the mat on #7 is fine as is. Build a tee box on #7 across ditch: Board voted to have this done as it will speed up play and also much better for the Jr.Golfers as well as new golfers. Mayors'Assistant Jim Reames asked if anyone on the Board had a V.C.R to use at Fairview and try to catch these young people that are doing the damage to the course. This way the Police could be able to help. Gordy was asked about the locks for the outdoor restrooms at Fairview. Bill Schwinn said that he had been checking into different locks but that they have a person that locks the restrooms at the Park at night that person could lock Fairview, but then i': would be up -': the crew ?1.oc:k 'r_t'im in the morning. Lenny could put signs up stating time of open and close for restrooms. Gordy is to check on a"SPOKE EATER" for Purple Sage to put in the Card- Room. The Board voted in December9,1992 that the Ditch on #12 not be covered but it was to be kept free of Weeds and Trash at all times. The expense of covering the ditch involved alot of things that these people are not aware of. The Tee Boxes are moved Monday,Wednesday,Friday & Saturday at Purple Fairview is a different story people move Tee Boxes anywhere they want the crew puts them where they should be but thats as far as it qoes. Children under Six the Pro must enforce this:He must train his staff tg insist NO CHILDREN UNDER 6 ALLOWED: Bill Moad suggested that the greens not be punched before a"Pro Am,at Purple Sage, also the Pro Shop should let people know that the greens are punched. On opening of Purple Sage, this will be up to the Mayor,Council. Council-Liaison Jerry Langan said they are meeting next week with the Pro John Watson and see what can be done.Review Johns' contract etc. Since the big storm hit Monday John wanted to know if he should stay open, Bill Schwinn said it would be closed until further notice. Page 2 BUDGET: This was the first time Board Members saw the Budget and they were very concerned at the $509,350 Budget. It s?ems that several items were not explained and the Board feels this Budgetis out of line. Lloyd Nelsen said with a Budget like this it would be impossible to get a loan from a bank, Mike Garman had the same feelings. Lisa Thompson came up to the Board to try and explain it and said the banks don't need a budget. Council-Liaison Jerry Langan couldn't give any answers as this was done prior to his election. Bill Moad stated that in looking this over he could not see a budget as is. Don Tolley and Mike Garman had looked at the budget on Monday and were very unhappy with it. Perhaps there will be more answers next month. page , ti Mike Garman said he had a request from the U.of I changing their annual • tournament to Purple Sage so that they would be able to have more players to raise funds. This would be held June 10,1994, John said it was fine with him. Lenny asked if he could have a Seniors two day tournament to replace this as he only has about three big ones and with this going to Purple it would hurt him. The Board felt that Lenny should try to get the Senior Tournamentand it would be great to have a two day event. The March meeting all tournaments will be discussed and dates set. John said he had a request from the "Christian Group that played two years ago in October paid $2000., Board granted this as this is played on a week clay and October is not so busy. Mike Garman said he would call Gaylon Coates today and have him come March 1, to speak on the Sprinkler System, will be held at City Hall upstairs. Mike will have all information in paper and will be posted at both courses so that everyone interested can come. The cost of his trip should be around $1400.
