Caldwell City Hall
Present: Canyon County Commissioners Abe Vasquez, Zelda Nickel, and Pat Galvin;
Middleton Mayor Leon Swigert; Canyon Highway District #1, Darrell Millaz; Caldwell
Board of Realtors, JoAnn Lowe and her Daughter; Caldwell Economic Development
Director, John Blaye; Caldwell Airport, Jack Peazson; and Caldwell Mayor Dick Winder.
Several people expressed a strong need for a county group to prioritize and lobby the
Idaho Transportation Department regarding needed projects in Canyon County.
Nampa Mayor Winston Goering submitted several projects for consideration as did
Caldwell Mayor Dick Winder. Other projects were suggested and discussed.
There was a consensus that we should meet again on Thursday, August 7, @ 2:00 p.m. at
Caldwell City Council Chambers to discuss specific projects and their prioritization by
the group. Also at this meeting a spokesperson or persons will be selected and a
delegation designated to appear before the Idaho Transportation Board September 18 or
19 in Boise.
