Gary Maybon, Linda James, Chief Allcott. Item 1: There have been some concerns apparently raised with respect to speeding on Indiana from Ustick Rd. north to Caldwell High School. We discussed many issues and felt that further study was needed by the STEP team. They should look at limiting the extent of the School Zone and consider the newer Fluorescent Green signs that are being used at some other location around the country. Item 2. We received and reviewed a letter that requested to place stop signs at most intersections on Kearney, creating 4-way stops at 2 intersections and 2 way at another. It was the decision of this board that, subsequent to approval by the City Council, we would not place additional stop signs at this time as Kearney is designed to be the through street and should continue. We would request the STEP team to be more aggressive in patrolling this area and to notify Mr. and Mrs. Melina of the decision upon City approval. Item 3. We received a request to post Hannibal as a"No Parking" far it's length. The STEP team had recommended making it one-way west bound. After reviewing the options and the traffic, it was the decision of this commission to not make any changes to Hannibal at this time. Item 4. Request to evaluate speed limit on Centennial. The speed limit has recently been changed to 35 mph from 45 mph and there had been a request to raise it again. After reviewing the design criteria and circumstances on the road, it was our decision to leave it as is for another 6 months and re-evaluate accident and speecing tickets for that time to see if it would warrant considering requesting the State raise the speed limit. Due to other meetings, this meeting adjourned at 10:00 a.m.
