Request for additional entrances to 1703 E. Chicago St. lot — request for access off Franklin to this property. Discussed concerns with proximity to intersection of Franklin and Chicago and with Denver and Franklin. Action: Gordon will review with architect and see if the distances from intersections and lining up with Denver will allow access off of Franklin or not. 2. Request for vacation of Juniper Ave. by CCHD — We reviewed this using the standard criteria for evaluating vacations of right-of-way and determined that it would not be appropriate in this case. Action: Capt. Allgood will work with Gordon to word letter to the highway district advising that the City would not want this right of way vacated. 3. Request for larger stop sign at 18 and Cleveland — we reviewed the accident statistics for this intersection and determined that it would warrant some efforts to improve it. Action: Mayor to contact requesting party to advise that we will be placing a larger stop sign there as well as posting a"stop ahead" sign before that intersection when approaching from the south. Gordon will see that signs are posted. 4. Request for vacation of right-of-way for west Morrison from Kimball to Parker — • discussed at length. This section is needed for emergency vehicle access and thus vacation of R-O-W would not be appropriate. Consideration of other options such as making it one-way in etc. were discussed but it was felt that we did not have adequate information on how that might impact others living in the area of Parker and those in the apartment complex. Action: Bruce will write a letter explaining this decision and requesting that the applicants provide more support or comment from others affected by the making of it a one-way street.
