ALLGOOD, CHIEF ALLCOTT. OLD BUSINESS: All reported that previous assignments had been completed NEW BUSINESS: 1. Request for 2-hr. parking limits in front of the Roastere at 21 and Cleveland — discussed this and determined that we would deny this at this time. The commissioi will need to address restrictions for on street parking in this and other business areas in the city. Currently in most areas there are no special restrictions other than the 48-hour state law restrictions. Action: Steven Hasson to write letter denying request. 2. Request from Engineering on Frost property right-of-way — Mr. Frost wants to develop a lot on the north side of Morrison west of Kimball. Issue was whether or not to require ROW for wider street in this area. Action: We will not require ROW for full street width, but will require sufficient ROW for sidewalk in this case. Action: Chief Allcott will communicate this decision. 3. Request for "Deaf Child" signs in 3700 blk. of Illinois — per past policy we • will offer the place sign if sign and post are provided by the requesting parties. The request also indicated desire for speed limit sign and the same option will be made available to them. Action: Mayor Nancolas will communicate this. 4. Request for signs to reduce speeding and running of stop signs at Ash and Washington — discussed the issues and the request was not real clear as to what was needed but we felt there needed to be further investigation by CPD. Action: Capt. Allgood will follow up to look at what issues really are and then report back with recommendations. 5. Request for relief by neighbor for Basketball hoops in street- we discussed this issue again. Currently there is no specific statute to prohibit anyone from setting up these basketball standards in the ROW. There seems to be a significant issue with encouraging kids to play in the street and on the public ROW. Action: Chief Allcott will draft some ordinance language for consideration by the City Council. •
