HomeMy WebLinkAbout09-07-2004 TRAFFIC COMMISSION MINTUES • Caldwell City Traffic Commission Minutes Sept. 7 2004 10:30 AM Present: Gordon Law, Chief Mark Wendelsdorf, Steve Hasson, and Mayor Nancolas Old Business �. Request for red curb painting in front of Mailbox (Refer to meeting agenda 06-07-04) The Caldwell Post O�ce had experienced problems delivering mail to 909 Dearborn due to Home Federal employees parking in front of the mail receptacle. The Post O�ce requested the City paint the curbing red in front of the residences mail receptacle to prevent parking. After site observation by members of the Traffic Committee, the request was re-visited. Their concern was this becoming a contagious request without end. After discussion of the situation the motion was made and the Traffic Commission agreed unanimously to recommend denial of the request. A���U��, �1��� �`� �������'���.������`����^� � ' � ���� .. ....,. . ��. New Business 1. Request to paint crosswalks at 24 & Blaine and add signage. The City received a letter from Mr. Brad Waldron addressing his concern regarding people not stopping for pedestrians in crosswalks and more specifically the crosswalks at 24 & Blaine. He requested the crosswalks be repainted, additional signage be put into place and the Police Dept. better enforce laws pertaining to drivers not yielding for pedestrians in • crosswalks. Prior to the meeting, Gordon Law drove to and reviewed the intersection in question. Gordon reported to the Traffic Commission that the crosswalks are in need of repainting. The motion was made and the Traffic Commission agreed unanimously to have the Street Dept. repaint the crosswalks and to forward Mr. Waldron's letter to Chief Sobba to address code enforcement ���I`�C�[��'" � �� �� � �� � ,� .; �� �r� �, � .. ��������r��,���� � ����� �� ��: ; 2. Hamburger Connection drive-through window queue. Steve Hasson noted traffic congestion caused by the drive-through window queue created during the noon rush at the Hamburger Connection located at the corner of 10 & Dearborn. It was noted and agreed that this congestion and location could become a future traffic issue. This concluded the meeting and the meeting was adjourned. The next Traffic Commission meeting is scheduled for October 4th at 10:30 am �
