Study results show signal is not warranted, however, Gordon Law suggested discussion
regarding warrant 7( Crash experience)
• Study showed 80% of accidents on Ustick were caused from people traveling east
darting out onto 10 while tuming left.
• Study recommendation was to provide turn pockets on 10' and right hand turn bays
on Ustick.
The motion was made and the Traffic Commission agreed unanimously to follow the

2. Linden Striping for Wilson School.
In the past month the Engineering Dept. received complaints about the traffic striping at 10'
and Linden. The two major issues are, small radii at intersections make right turns onto
Linden difficult for larger vehicles without crossing into the turn bay and east bound left turn
traffic is not able to use the tum bay. In response an Engineering Study was conducted
which recommended restriping with longer tapers and wider travel lanes. The motion was
made and the Traffic Commission agreed unanimously to follow the recommendation of the

3. Request to remove boulders at Rotary Pond boat launch.
• Traffic Commission received a letter from Blake Johnson requesting the boulders
place to deter past problems at Steel Bridge be removed because they block access the
boat launching area. The Fire Dept. stated the boulders are an issue for their access also
and agreed the boulders should be removed. The mayor took the action item to contact
Chief Sobba and see how well the boulders are working at deterring problems in the area.
The motion was made and the Traffic Commission agreed unanimously to continue the item

4. Request for Speed Bumps.
Gordon Law had conversation with Mr. Paul Aldrich regarding traffic speeds on Spruce
Street. Mr. Aldrich would like to see speed bumps or some other calming device put in
place. Traffic Commission agreed unanimously to respond to this request consistent with
past commission policy, i.e. inform Mr. Aldrich, by standard letter previously utilized by
Chief Allcott, why the City does not use speed bumps.
