Caldwell City Traffic Commission Minutes
� February 7th, 2005 10:30 AM
Present: Gordon Law, Mayor Nancolas and Chief Sobba
New Business
1. Sandalwood Estates "Vacating Request".
Traffic Commission received a request to evaluate the possibility of vacation of Right of Way
on Lot 7 in Sandalwood Estates. After review by the Traffic Commission the following
questions remained unanswered;
� Is this ROW a terminus for Sandalwood and/or Elm Streets?
• Is the precedence that the ROW to be returned to the original property from
which it came?
• If so, which property did this ROW originate from?
The motion was made and the Traffic Commission agreed unanimously to table the item for
further review and to revisit the request next meeting.

2. Beech Street signage missing.
Bob & Dorothy Hanson notified the Traffic Commission of missing "Beech" Street signs on
the crossroads of Beech and Indiana and again on Florida. The motion was made and the
Traffic Commission agreed unanimously to direct the Street Dept. to put the signs up.

3. Robert Ave. Speed Bump request.
Mr. Jerry Martin submitted a letter along with a petition signed by neighbors in the area to
the Traffic Commission requesting speed bumps and warning signs on Robert Ave. and the
lower end of Bushnell Street. Chief Sobba stated that this neighborhood's traffic activity is
equivalent to like neighborhoods and therefore does not warrant additional slowing devices.
The motion was made and the Traffic Commission agreed unanimously to send the
standard "no speed bump" letter and inform Mr. Martin that the neighborhood can purchase
warning or speed limit signs at their expense and have them installed by City crews.

4. Request to designate west side of 10 from Logan to Elm as "No Parking"
West Valley Medical Center submitted the above request to accommodate their Emergency
Dept. expansion project. The expansion project establishes an interim emergency entrance
off 10' Ave. Traffic Commission members noted that the above mentioned area of 10 Ave
is currently partially marked as "No Parking" and a Traffic Study has been requested at the
intersection of 10 & Logan. The motion was made and the Traffic Commission agreed
unanimously to send a letter inviting West Valley Medical Facility Operations Director, David
McFadyen to come in and review and discuss the entire intersection and surrounding area.

The following two items were not on the agenda but were discussed.

• 5. Request removal of landscaping islands as required on Final Plat.
Mr. Bill Gilbert requested the Traffic Commission allow him to remove 2 landscape islands
currently shown on Sky Ranch Final Plat. Mr. Gilbert believes this request is necessary to
accommodate future customer truck accessibility. The traffic commission discussed the
situation noting the current design was a condition of Original Plat approval by City Council.
Therefore, decision needs to go back to the appropriate body. The appropriate body being
City Council.

6. Jefferson School cross wa�k on 10 Ave.
Chuck Randolf and Tim Rosendick visited with the Mayor and were of the understanding
that the planned crosswalk an 10' Ave. in front of Jefferson Middle School had been put on
the "back burner". After discussion it was determined this was a misunderstanding of a
conversation.

This concluded the meeting and the meeting was adjourned.
The next Traffic Commission meeting is scheduled for March 7th at 10:30 am
