2. Request for additional crosswalks and "slow zone" around VWMC.
Mr. O.J. Madson phoned in a request for the Traffic Commission. Mr. Madson is concerned
by speeding and non-yielding vehicles around WVMC. Mr. Madson requested additional
crosswalks be installed and or a"Slow Zone" be implemented.
Traffic Commission believes the situation may be worsened by new construction currently
• underway at VWMC. However, trac and pedestrian flow has and is expected to continue to
increase in that area. Mayor Nancolas made the motion and Traffic Commission agreed

3. Request for Handicap Parking space at Caldwell Post Office
Caldwell Post Office requested a handicap parking space be painted at the Post Office. This
request is in reaction to a letter written by Kimberly Huitt to Mayor Nancolas, USPS and
Office of Americans with Disabilities Act. Ms. Huitts letter addresses the fact that there are
currently no handicap parking spaces available at Caldwell Post Office and therefore the
Post Office may not be in compliance with federal law. Traffic Commission discussed that
the Post Oce has previously been adamant about not wanting handicap spaces due to
limited parking availability.
