1. Syringa Middle School Speed Limit Signs
A letter was received from James Runsvold suggesting the City review the Speed limit
signage at Syringa Middle School for consistency and effectiveness. After discussion by the
Traffic Commission it was agreed that speed limit signage should be consistent and
effective around all local schools. The motion was made and Traffic Commission agreed
unanimously to place only signs stating "20 miles per hour when children are present" at all

and forward letter and attachments to Code Enforcement for action.
2. Request for "No Parking" signs on 2800 block of Montana.
A section of road along the East side of the 2800 block of Montana Ave. does not have curb
or gutter. Vehicles parking along this section cause the shoulder of the road to break down
and in turn eliminate a drainage ditch provided along that strip to direct water to available
curb and gutter. Mr. Bicknell requests "No Parking" signs be placed along this section to
prevent him from having to maintain the drainage ditch to keep water from flooding onto the
roadway or back into his yard. The motion was made and Traffic Commission agreed
unanimously to have the street department to fix and maintain the drainage ditch.

 5. Request road closure on 7'' Ave.
Mr. Vern DeMark owns a business that occupies both sides of 7th Avenue at its Dead End
and has incurred on going vandalism and property damage after working hours. Mr. DeMark
phoned the Mayor requesting permission to close off the end of the street by placing a
locking gate across the road at the close of business. The Traffic Commission has no
objection to allowing gated clasure of that portion of 7' Avenue without vacating R-O-W.
The motion was made and Traffic Commission agreed unanimously to have Chief
Wendelsdort assess the area for Fire Hydrant accessibility and, if found to be satisfactory,
proceed with the Closure Noticing process and place it as an item on the City Council
Agenda.
