1. Caldwell Bus Stop System Discussion — Valley Regional Transit.
Stephen from Valley Regional Transit (VRT) addressed the Traffic Commission to
understand the process necessary to implement a bus stop system in Caldwell. VRT would
like to implement signage, benches and occasional Kiosk shelters along their proposed
route. Points presented on behalf of VRT were;
• Routes exist, signage does not
• Suggested signage of Bus Route would express availability and exsistance, bringing
the service to light
• VRT will provide all signage, posts, etc and shared examples of suggested signs &
� decals
City Concerns were;
• ADA Compliance
• Advertising on benches needs to be regulated by VRT with assurances to City
preferences
After discussion, all agreed to approaching the proposal through the following 2 tasks;
1. Reviewing proposed routes and stops
2. Reviewing Kiosks/ Shelters for location, design and Advertising
VRT hopes to have the transit system functional by Fall of 2006.

2. Request to Lower Speed Limit on Cleveland Blvd — D. L. Maitland.
Two letters were received, in tandem, from retailers on Cleveland Blvd. suggesting the
speed limit be lowered to 35 Mph for reasons of safety due to increased volume in traffic.
Points noted were that
• Caldwell/ Nampa Blvd is actually State Hwy 30 (ITD)
. • 2 Cities, along with ITD, would need to be involved in this request

. • This is not a High Pedestrian area
The motion was made and Traffic Commission agreed unanimously to table the issue
pending receiving results of accident reports in the area mentioned.
