1. "No U-Turn" sign on Centennial Blvd — Candy Nichols.
Ms. Nichols submitted a request for the above signage to eliminate drivers from
circumventing proper procedure when exiting the freeway. Westbound drivers wishing to
turn left on to Centennial Blvd. are instead turning right, going a short distance and then
making a U-turn in order to avoid a lengthy wait in line on the off ramp. The motion was
made and Traffic Commission agreed unanimously to have the situation reviewed.
"' `` ° Request review of situation in question

• 2. Request for Speed Bumps — Marilyn Freeman
Ms. Freeman requested speed bumps on the 604 block of Oak street for reasons of safety
due to increased volume in traffic. The motion was made and Traffic Commission agreed
unanimously to have Chief Wendelsdorf communicate the commission's uniformed
response to same requests.
,, „ ,,. ° Send correspondence to Ms. Freeman
3. Request for "One-Way" or "No Left Turn" at 403 Blaine — Thomas Tingey
Mr. Tingey's address is parallel to an uninterrupted, two block section on the South side of
Blaine Street occupied by an Albertson's store and parking area. The continuity of this
section displaces "one-way" signage that would otherwise be posted in the vicinity of Mr.
Tingey's office. The motion was made and Traffic Commission aqreed unanimously to place
additional "One-Way" signage were typical signage would be if 4 Street went through and
also request SET to paint an exiting arrow in their parking lot driveway.

", rc r „ ,, "° Request street department follow-up with additional signage.
, . rr `' ""` `Send correspondence to Mr. Tingey requesting driveway arrow.
4. Request for "Stop Sign" on Laster Lane — Dr. John Blayney
Dr. and Mrs. Blayney submitted the above request on behalf of themselves and their
neighbors. Development in this area has generated substantial traffic.
The motion was made and Traffic Commission agreed unanimously to place appropriate
"S eed Limit" si ns as City standards direct.
,, ,,, ;,,,, , `' „ y4 Request street follow-up with additional signage.
5. Additional defined Cross-walks requested — Paul Alldredge
With the safety of pedestrians in mind, Mr. Alldredge has requested additional "defined"
Cross-walks at various locations, most specifically around Jefferson Middle School and
Wilson Elementary School. The Commission noted that cross-walks at non-designated
intersections are dangerous, creating a sense of false security in pedestrians. The
characteristics of an area need to drive pedestrians to a"secure" intersection for crossing.
The motion was made and Traffic Commission agreed unanimously to have City
Engineering respond by letter explaining reservations in implementing cross-walks at non-
desi nated intersection.
" '' Send correspondence to Mr. Alldredge explaining the
Commissions concerns.
6. Vacation Request (Lucky Way St.) — Ernest Oropeza
A second request, incited by a previously submitted request by Schuylar Enochs, to vacate
R-O-W along a portion of Lucky Way between Brian Ave. and Ray Ave was received from
Mr. Orpeza. Enoch Schuylars request was placed on City Council Agenda to be heard the
evening of 6-5-06. Being reserved, even reluctant, in vacating public R-O-W the Traffic
Commission chose to table the issue considering any action at this time to be premature.
The issue was tabled to be re-visited next month.
e ' „ ' ""' Communicate the Commissions decision to Mr. Oropeza.
The next Traffic Commission meeting is scheduled for July 5 at 10:30 am
