Caldwell City Traffic Commission Minutes cc�1(�Z.

Old Business -
1. Follow-up: Request to "Paint Crosswalk" and/ or install "Flashing Light" on Linden in
front of Wilson School. (Becky Geissler)
Chief Sobba reports that a Traffic Analysis has determined minimal use of the cross-walk in
question, (approximately 4 students) and that the Wilson School principal has no objection to
removal of the cross-walk. The motion was made and Traffic Commission agreed
unanimously to remove the existing cross-walk and re-direct students to cross at the nearest
"controlled intersection".
�. M „ "�Communicate the decision of the TC to Ms. Geissler and direct the
Street department to remove the cross-walk.
New Business
1. Children at Play Signs — Safety Issue?
Gordon Reed, Superintendent of the Street department, raised the question of safety regarding
the installation of "Children at Play" Signs. There has been concern noted by outside agencies,
that the above mentioned signs could become an issue of liability on the organization posting the
signage by create a false sense of security in children at play. After review and discussion of
information submitted, it was the determination of the Traffic Commission to suggest Gordon
� Reed research the situation further and report any new findings to the Traffic Commission.
Information taken under consideration may then aid the Traffic Commission enabling them to
make better informed decisions on like matters in the future.
The next Traffic Commission meeting is scheduled for February 5th at 10:30 am
