Request "Speed LimiY', "Stop" signs and Curb painting — Stone Creek (Chris Johnston) Mr. Johnston is requestinq four °Stop" sians, ten "20 mnh" Speed Limit signs and aoproxim�tely 200' feet of red curb painting in the Stone Creek Subdivision. No basis for the request or locations were presented A motion was made and the Traffic Commission agreed unanimously to request more information from Mr. Johnston regarding the basis and placement of Stop signs and a better understanding of the purpose for the red curb. In addition, the process for the Home Owners Association to purchase and have additional Speed Limit signs installed is to be communicated to Mr. Johnston. Request for School Zone signage —(Lisa Itano, Little Picasso Pre-School)) The Little Picasso Pre-school requested to be considered a"School Zone" by the City with associated signage and speed limits implemented. The Traffic Commission determined this request "not appropriate" for the following reasons; � • Little Picasso is a"for profit" business operating as a"daycare" facility. School Zone signage is reserved for schools with significant youth pedestrian tra�c. • �Little Picasso is located at 1123 Blaine Street_ Blaine Street is a part of the State Highway System Business Loop and reducing the speed limit to 20 mph is inconsistent with an established °Business Loop". A motion was made and the Traffic Commission agreed unanimously to decline Little Picasso's request for the above mentioned reasons and to communicate the recommendation of the Commission to Lisa Picasso. (Susan Avitia) Ms. Avitia's requesfi states there is a lack of traffic monitoring signs and many erratic an� reckless drivers passing through the Montecito Park Subdivision. No locations for the Stop signs were provided. A motion was made and the Traffic Commission agreed unanimously to request Chief Allgood to research and review the `Yeckless traffic" situation and report back to Traffic Commission with his findings. �4C�+c�. Request for more "visible" street signs at the entrance to Glenn Meadows Estates . (Phylliss Indart) The above request came from Ms. Phylliss Indart on behalf of her mother and the residents of Glenn Meadows Estates. Glenn Meadows Estates is a senior community. On separate occasions an ambulance was called and drove to the wrong address within Glenn Meadows due to a lack of clear directional signs at the entrance of Glenn Meadows Estates. A motion was made and the Traffic Commission agreed unanimously to have Mayor N�n��l�� vi�i# the site and report back with his recommendations. ,A����t" ���far����t��- Site visit to Glenn Meadows Estates. 6. Request to review Kimball Avenue parking analysis (Dennie Cannon) An analysis on converting horizontal parking on Kimball Avenue between Blaine & Main Streets to angle parking was submitted fordiscussion and review. Consistent with the Traffic Commission's previous decision on this matter, this request will be reviewed after completion of the Indian Creek Project. � � �C�1�:�, No action required. � � � � � � � The next Traffic Commission Meeting will be October 1, 2007 @ 10:30 in the Mayors conference room. � •
