Request for Stop Signs and Curb painting in Stone Creek Subdivision. (Chris Johnston — 468-5529) Stone Creek HOA provided detailed information regarding placement of requested Stop signs and curb painting. Upon review it was agreed by the Traffic Commission that the indicated locations do not meet criteria required to warrant Stop Signs: • 2 Classified streets intersecting • Accident History • Vision Obstruction • Volume — No inordinate delay A motion was made and the Traffic Commission agreed unanimously to monitor the situation and suggests no change at this time. It was agreed by the Traffic Commission to request the Street department to review existing painted curbing and re-paint as needed. A�t�n:,��,��m�� �-- Send correspondence to Mr. Johnston and request Street department to maintenance curb painting as needed. New Business � 1. Request for school pedestrian cross-walks (Bill Hamlin — Design West) The above request was made by Mr. Hamlin in the interest of safety for students crossing Santa Anna Avenue enroute to Sage Valley Middle school and Desert Springs Elementary. The Traffic Commission concluded that installing cross-walks at uncontrolled intersections of classified streets creates a false sense of safety in young pedestrians, and that crosswalks generally should not be installed until signalization is implemented. The motion was made and Traffic Commission agreed unanimously to forward a letter indicating the City's willingness to work with the School district on the following solution: • The City install a crosswalk and signage if the School District agrees to provide crossing guards Ac#�c�r� =;G+�r�?�,n Law— Send correspondence to Mr. Hamlin.
