1. Request for Stop Signs and Curb painting in Stone Creek Subdivision. (Chris Johnston —
468-5529)
Stone Creek HOA provided detailed information regarding placement of requested Stop signs
and curb painting.
Upon review it was agreed by the Traffic Commission that the indicated locations do not meet
criteria required to warrant Stop Signs:
• 2 Classified streets intersecting
• Accident History
• Vision Obstruction
• Volume — No inordinate delay
A motion was made and the Traffic Commission agreed unanimously to monitor the situation and
suggests no change at this time.
It was agreed by the Traffic Commission to request the Street department to review existing
painted curbing and re-paint as needed.
Atn:,,m -- Send correspondence to Mr. Johnston and request Street

 1. Request for school pedestrian cross-walks (Bill Hamlin — Design West)
The above request was made by Mr. Hamlin in the interest of safety for students crossing
Santa Anna Avenue enroute to Sage Valley Middle school and Desert Springs Elementary.
The Traffic Commission concluded that installing cross-walks at uncontrolled intersections of
classified streets creates a false sense of safety in young pedestrians, and that crosswalks
generally should not be installed until signalization is implemented.
The motion was made and Traffic Commission agreed unanimously to forward a letter
indicating the City's willingness to work with the School district on the following solution:
• The City install a crosswalk and signage if the School District agrees to provide
crossing guards
Ac#cr =;G+r?,n Law— Send correspondence to Mr. Hamlin.
The next Traffic Commission Meeting will be December 3, 2007 a 10:30 in the Mayors
conference room.
