HomeMy WebLinkAbout2008-03-08 TRAFFIC COMMISSION MINUTES � ,�PP� (.� ��� �� � Caldwell City Traffic Commission Minutes March 3, 2008 10:30 AM Present: Chairman Law, Chairman Osgood, Chief Wendelsdorf, Brian Billingsley, Chief Allgood Secretary: Tammy Frans Old Business - Correction -#1 under Old Business and #2 under New Business are the same request and are addressed as #1 under New Business. New Business 1. Request change in parking configuration on South Kimball (David Wishney & Joan Seidenstucker) David Wishney & Joan Seidenstucker submitted a request to change the parking configuration from parallel to angle parking, on the 100 block of Kimball Avenue. A previous decision was reached by the TC on a similar request. In remaining consistent with the previous decision the Traffic Commission agreed unanimously to table the petitioner's request at this time and, upon completion of the Indian Creek Project, request that Dennie Cannon analyze the downtown parking design as a whole and provide the TC with his conclusions and recommendations. The request and response letter were reviewed by the Traffic Commission. , � �r �No further action required. 2. Request removal of "2 Hour-Parking" on Kimball (Janie Aguilar) Ms. Aguilar, a property owner living in her downtown building at 318 Kimball Avenue, would like the "2 Hour-Parking" signs in front of her building removed and would like them replaced with "No Skateboarding" signs. Caldwell downtown core parking is designated as 2 Hour-Parking though no ticketing for violation is being enforced at this time. In addition, there are no ordinances or laws against skateboarding in any public place in the City of Caldwell. After discussion the Traffic Commission suggests that the downtown revitalization Committee include sign removal requests along with the parking redesign project. Request for a Guardrail along the canal at 21 Avenue & Nampa-Caldwell Blvd. � (Robert Culley) Mr. Culley is requesting guardrail be installed to prevent vehicles from accidentally ending up in the canal that runs parallel to a section of Nampa-Caldwell Blvd. near 21 Street,. - Nampa-Cladwell Blvd. is under the jurisdiction of ITD and it was the recommendation of the TC to forward Mr. Culley's request to Kevin Sablin of ITD along with our recommendation for consideration. The next Traffic Commission Meeting will be April 7th, 2008 @ 10:30 in the Mayors conference room.
